Coffee Stain has announced Goat Simulator 3, the sequel to barmy barnyard title Goat Simulator, with a fantastic call back trailer.

Remember how the original Goat Simulator launched with a trailer that took the piss out of Dead Island's legendary announcement trailer, which played out a zombie outbreak in reverse? Well, Coffee Stain has paid homage to that with its first Goat Simulator 3 trailer, this time pulling inspiration from the equally infamous Dead Island 2 trailer, which saw a jogger obliviously running through a zombie apocalypse. It's a wonderful call back, and we appreciate it. It's even more hilarious when you consider that Dead Island 2 hasn't even released yet, over eight years later.

As for Goat Simulator 3, it's a full sequel to Goat Simulator (skipping Goat Simulator 2 entirely) and offers up 4-player co-op, either locally or online. On top of that, there's a new sandbox world to explore, new physics reactions, and loads of customisation.

“Since the release of the first Goat Simulator, it's come to our attention that it did not really represent reality and how it actually feels to be a goat,” says creative director Santiago Ferrero. “So for the past couple of years, we've been doing some googling, and I am pleased to say - we've made it. Goat Simulator 3 is by far the greatest goat experience out there. Is it worth the money? Who knows. But will you regret it? Probably.”

Goat Simulator 3 is launching on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC in autumn 2022.
