Warhammer 40,000: Darktide Gameplay Looks Suitably Gloomy and Brutal

During last night's Summer Game Fest, developer Fatshark released some new gameplay for the upcoming Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, the Vermintide-style four-player co-op action game coming this September.

The gameplay follows up last week's CG trailer debuted at the Warhammer Skulls Showcase, and features a partial mission playthrough, in which Heretics have sabotaged Tertium's power system. It falls to your four anti-heroes to save the day, in a high stakes quest, packed to the rafters with brutal executions and a nice bit of gore.

“It’s been an exciting, and maybe a little crazy week for Fatshark, with two brand new Warhammer 40,000: Darktide trailers released,” said Fatshark CEO Martin Wahlund. “While last week’s amazing Warhammer Skulls trailer focused more on story, gameplay is what it all comes down to, and today we gave you almost 120 seconds of Darktide.”

You can take a look at the new Warhammer 40,000: Darktide gameplay below, then prepare to dive right in when the game launches for Xbox Series X|S and PC on 13th September 2022, also available via Game Pass.

  • This looks sick. I personally can’t wait to play this day one on GP with my buds! Looks like good time. Always wondered when they will go 40K not really enjoying Vermintide all that much (due to setting more than anything really)…
