Microsoft has announced a new partnership between Kojima Productions and Xbox Game Studios.

Hideo Kojima, the director behind the Metal Gear and Death Stranding, confirmed a long-standing rumour by announcing that he is creating a game for Xbox “utilising the power of the cloud”.

“Yes, there is a game I have always wanted to make. It's a completely new game, one that no one has ever experienced or seen before. I've waited very long for the day when I could finally start to create it,” said Kojima. “With Microsoft's cutting edge cloud technology and the change in the industry's trend, it has now become possible to challenge myself to make this never-before-seen concept. It may take some time, but I'm looking forward to teaming up with Xbox Game Studios and hope to bring you some exciting news in the future!”

“Hideo Kojima is one of the most innovative and creative minds in our industry we can’t wait to share what our teams will create together,” said Xbox.

Unfortunately we didn't get a trailer, or literally any indication of what this new game will be, but if you like Kojima games, here's something to keep an eye on. You can check out the full announcement down below.
