Developer Asobo Studio and publisher Focus Entertainment have revealed new gameplay for A Plague Tale: Requiem, the upcoming sequel to A Plague Tale: Innocence, set to continue the fraught journey of Amicia and Hugo. A release date reveal is also scheduled for later this month.

In the new gameplay, you can see Amicia using new weapons, including a crossbow for ranged encounters, and knives for close-range hand-to-hand combat. Requiem also aims to offer a wider variety of environments, while new narrative elements centred upon the nefarious Macula and the children striving to resist having to resort to open violence.

You can take a look at A Plague Tale: Requiem in action in the latest gameplay below, then learn more about the game in an interview with the developer. Meanwhile, the release date reveal and a new, extended gameplay trailer will be arriving on 23rd June. A Plague Tale: Requiem is set for release on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, Switch and PC in 2022.

Not resist violence, just resist open violence. There was an awful lot of neck-stabbing for someone trying to be peaceful.
  • The image Xbox released of all the games releasing in the next 12 months looks to be in monthly order so it seems this will be out August/September
