GSC Game World debuted a new trailer for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl during yesterday's Xbox Game Showcase Extended, as well as a developer diary showcasing the realities of developing a game during the war in Ukraine.

The new trailer reveals S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl's introductory cutscene, showing us how the game's protagonist makes their way into The Zone. It also revealed a new 2023 release date, with development being heavily impacted by the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

GSC Game World's developer diary goes a step further, and gives us a glimpse of the dark reality of game development during war. While the majority of the developers on the game were relocated to Prague to ensure their safety, many still remain in Ukraine, with some even joining the Armed Forces of Ukraine to help defend their country. You can watch both the new trailer and dev diary down below.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl will be launching on Xbox Series X|S and PC in 2023.

  • If you’re into these types of games I recommend Chernobylite. Fun story that goes off rails at some point and minimal base building along eoth reversible choices on the fly pretty much made that one worth mentioning and recommending;-)
