Nicalis has announced that The Legend of Bum-bo, a prequel to Edmund McMillen's The Binding of Isaac, will be coming to consoles later this month. Announced as far back as 2016 and released for PC in 2019, the ‘deckbuilding roguelike’ set within a cardboard world, will be hitting Xbox soon.

Centred upon Bumb-bo's mission to retrieve his only coin, when it's stolen by a mysterious entity and taken into the sewers, the game involves collecting hoards of items that can be modified, upgraded, and combined in a variety of ways. You can play as multiple versions of Bum-bo, each with their own abilities, then set about smashing, bashing, and splashing through “a variety of cardboard monstrosities", including giant bosses.

Featuring more than 125 unique items to modify and upgrade, over 80 trinkets that grant passive abilities, 40 enemy types, seven playable Bum-bo types, 13 “ugly-yet-cute” bosses, music by Ridiculon, a slew of unlockables, animated cutscenes “that will make you feel bad”, and oodles of poop,  The Legend of Bum-bo sounds like it pretty much has it all.

The Legend of Bum-bo will be pooping its way to Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch on 29th June, priced $19.99. Take a look at the poopy new trailer below.
