PQube has announced that Inertial Drift, the twin-stick arcade racer initially released in 2020, will be making its way to Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 in September, as a new ‘Twilight Rivals Edition', complete with an all-new story mode and various enhancements.

Set in a 1990s retro-future, Inertial Drift features unique twin-stick drifting mechanics, which “offers a whole new level of accessibility and challenge” to its racing experience. The upcoming new-gen version will include support for up to 120fps in Performance Mode, or full 4K resolution in Quality Mode.

A total of 24 cars with their own individual characteristics, 14 tracks encompassing neon-drenched city streets, rural temples, and serpentine mountain passes, and support for local and online multiplayer, will also feature, alongside leaderboards specific to each car. The new ‘Twilight Rivals’ story mode, meanwhile, promises “the hardest challenge you've faced yet”.

Inertial Drift: Twilight Rivals Edition will be coming to Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 in September. You can take a look at the original version of Inertial Drift in the trailer for the Precision Mode update released for the game earlier this year.
