Star Ocean: The Divine Force October Release Date Revealed With a New Trailer

Square Enix has announced that Star Ocean: The Divine Force will be launching this October, seeing a return for tri-Ace's sci-fi fantasy RPG series, with a range of new characters, side stories, and a “unique” battle system that promises “thrilling fights using simple and instinctive controls”.

Star Ocean: The Divine Force features dual protagonists Raymond and Laeticia in a new adventure, alongside an expansive cast of support characters, massive environments to roam freely, and the ability to fly through the skies using a jetpack. The new seamless battle system features Action Points (AP), link combos, and a stop mode, as well as high-speed attacks and skills that can vanquish an enemy with a single strike.

Set in the world of Aster IV, Star Ocean: The Divine Force will feature a choice-driven story, 3D traversal, and more when it releases for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC on 27th October 2022. Check out the release date trailer, a new ‘Mission Report’ video, and ‘Ray’s Story' intro below.

  • Will check this out in the morning, hoping they’ve improved upon the ps2 era graphics in the original reveal.
  • Nope, still looks utterly dreadful to look at.
  • On the bright side, the combat looks much improved. The characters still have that eerie plastic look to them and the voice-acting and lip syncing are as terrible as ever.

There really isn't anything else coming out this year that I'm interested in so I may just pick it up out of sheer desperation.
