Bandai Namco has teamed up with Pokémon and Dragon Quest developer ILCA in order to form a new company, Bandai Namco Aces Inc.

Bandai Namco had previously announced that ILCA would be working as a partner developer on the next Ace Combat game, which is currently in development. Now it seems the Japanese publisher is looking to make that partnership more official with the creation of the new company.

“Embracing the name ‘Aces’ as representing those who are best or leading in any field, the newly created studio will leverage the know-how of both companies and continue to deliver deep and lasting, highquality content to fans around the world,” said Bandai Namco in the official announcement.

Bandai Namco Aces will, unsurprisingly, be working on the next Ace Combat game, although it seems that the door is also open for further projects. The goal for the studio is to leverage the “game making expertise and technical capabilities for development” of both Bandai Namco and ILCA in order to produce “high-end photorealistic game content”.

The team is currently hiring developers for the next title in the Ace Combat series.
