Nacon has released a new gameplay trailer for The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, giving us our best look at the stealth platformer in action.
Set behind-the-scenes during the opening chapters of The Fellowship of the Ring, the game follows Gollum as he leaves the Misty Mountains, and ventures through the mountains of Mordor, the Mines of Moria, the Mirkwood Forest, and more. Along the way, he'll come across classic characters from the books. The world and characters have been designed based on descriptions from the books themselves, rather than using the visual style of the Peter Jackson movies, for a new take of the world of The Lord of the Rings.
Gollum is not the most powerful creature in Middle-Earth, so he has to use stealth to get past his foes, sneaking through long grass, diving underwater in rivers, and moving in shadow. You'll also have to contend with his twin personalities, Smeagol and Gollum, and choose which one makes important decisions throughout the story.
You can see more of the game in action in the new trailer down below. The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is launching on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC on 1st September 2022.
