Frontier Foundry and developer KeokeN Interactive have released a second developer diary for Deliver Us Mars, offering insights into what's at stake in the game's narrative, and the “heartfelt” father-daughter relationship at the heart of the Deliver Us the Moon sequel.
Titled ‘Earth’s Last Hope', the latest dev diary follows on from the first, which also featured some details on the game's storyline and the Red Planet environment itself. Casting you as young astronaut Kathy Johanson (played by Poldark and Young Wallander's Ellise Chappell), you'll be sent on a vital mission to Mars to retrieve huge colonisation vessels known as ARKs.
Potentially giving humanity one last chance at reversing the damage to Earth caused by pollution and climate change, the ARK vessels were taken by Kathy's father Isaac, who also abandoned her. Therefore, Kathy has personal reasons for taking on the mission, and when a strange transmission suggests her father may still be alive, she won't stop until she's unravelled the truth.
You can watch the ‘Earth’s Last Hope' dev diary for Deliver Us Mars below, with a behind the scenes look at motion capture, with input from KeokeN co-founders Paul and Koen Deetman. Deliver Us Mars launches for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC on 27th September, priced $29.99/£24.99/€29.99.
