Developer Motion Twin has revealed a new roadmap for Dead Cells' content updates for 2022 and beyond, promises more surprises are on their way.

In the announcement, the developer confirms that Dead Cells is currently in its “mid-life”, with plenty more content coming during the rest of the year. This includes a summer update, adding in the Panchaku weapon and a new flame-head outfit, along with the normal rebalancing.

Autumn 2022 is bringing a Boss Rush mode, while winter's update is still a surprise for the time being. Most interestingly, 2023 is listed as “the most exciting year in Dead Cells' history”, with Motion Twin saying that they “won't be slowing down”, promising it will be the biggest year since the 1.0 launch.

“We're taking a little breather from constant alpha/beta/update announcements to kill off the belief that, with the latest DLC 'The Queen and the Sea', we are at or near the end of Dead Cells' lifetime. We can see how people ended up thinking this, but reports of our death have been greatly exaggerated,” says the developer.
