Microsoft has announced that Discord voice chat is coming to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles in the near future, and is available for Xbox Insiders today.
“Today’s update enables a highly requested feature – Discord Voice on Xbox consoles allows you to talk with your friends and community while you play your favourite games,” says Xbox's Eric Voreis.
“Planning a few rounds of multiplayer action in Halo Infinite with buddies on both console and PC? Exploring new biomes with your friends in Minecraft? See them already playing a game that supports cross-play? Connect to their voice channel and chat as you all play.”
Discord will be accessible from the Parties & chats section of the Xbox Guide, and will allow players to set up a two-way link between their Xbox and Discord account. Once linked, you can jump into a Discord voice channel as usual, with the Discord Mobile App displaying a new “Join on Xbox” option.
The update is available today for Xbox Insiders, and will be rolling out to more users in the coming weeks.
