Immortals Fenyx Rising, the cartoon-styled Breath of the Wild-style open world adventure steeped in Greek mythology, is reportedly set to receive a spin-off. Rather than continuing the original's Greek saga, however, the spin-off is said to be set within the realms of Polynesian myth, and one inspired less by Nintendo's latest Zelda.
“Ubisoft Quebec‘s sequel to Immortals Fenyx Rising is not a proper sequel. It’s more of a spin-off,” VentureBeat's Jeff Grub remarked during the Game Mess Decides podcast (via VGC). “The production name of the game is called Oxygen. It’s based on Hawaiian Polynesian culture this time around. It still has a God narrator. They try to still be visually stylised but it’s less of a copy of Breath of the Wild.”
Grubb cites an anonymous source, who claims that the Fenyx Rising spin-off is “in early pre-production,” adding that he's “seen some concept art,” and “it’s coming maybe 2025.” If that's the case, then an official announcement is going to be a long, long way off. It's not the first we've heard of a follow-up to Immortals Fenyx Rising either, with a leak earlier this year pointing to something potentially new in the pipeline.

Immortals Fenyx Rising started life as ‘Gods & Monsters’ upon its announcement in 2019, before changing its name the following year. The game released in December 2020, and has since received the ‘A New God’, ‘Myths of the Eastern Realm’, and 'The Lost Gods’ DLCs.
