Square Enix has released a new trailer for Star Ocean: The Divine Force, introducing the party's mysterious robotic companion, D.U.M.A..
D.U.M.A. appears to be mechanical, although it refers to itself as a lifeform, and it joins Raymond and his party on the adventure, despite its intentions being unclear. D.U.M.A. appears to be closely linked with the story of The Divine Force, with multiple parties wanting to capture or destroy it, for their own purposes.
In gameplay, D.U.M.A. helps out the party with Vanguard Assault abilities. The main ability is Flight, which can be used in towns or out in the world. It can also use Field Scan in order to explore and find secret stashes of items, such as Gems. These Gems can be used to improve D.U.M.A.'s abilities throughout the game.
In battle, Vanguard Assault can be used to levitate your character, before crashing down into an enemy or ally. The effect will change depending on the character using it.
There's plenty more uses for D.U.M.A. in battle as well, and you can check out some more of them in the new trailer below. Star Ocean: The Divine Force launches on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC on 27th October 2022
