THQ Nordic and developer Yuke's have lifted the lid on its video game version of All Elite Wrestling, AEW: Fight Forever, confirming that the game will be heading to Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch. All of the usual game modes will also be accounted for, with Tag-Team, 3-Way, 4-Way, Ladder Matches, and more.

“One of the first things I did after signing with AEW was to ask Tony Khan to let me help assemble the best gaming team on the planet, to make the best wrestling game ever,” said former AEW Champ and AEW Executive Vice President Kenny Omega. “Well, we just landed the perfect finisher by partnering with global publishing and distribution powerhouse THQ Nordic for AEW: Fight Forever.”

Yuke's CEO Yukinori Taniguchi adds that AEW: Fight Forever aims to “recreate AEW’s appeal within a video game to the highest degree," using “cutting-edge technology” to achieve “the next evolution in pro wrestling gaming.” With THQ Nordic on board as publisher and Yuke's as developer, AEW: Fight Forever sees a re-forging of the original WWE creative team.

The game promises “simple commands” that will enable you to pull off grappling moves seen during AEW match ups, with team manoeuvres in tag-team matches and innovative tandem offensive moves. The game will also have an expansive roster of AEW wrestlers, a deep career mode, create-a-wrestler tools, and signature AEW arenas.

AEW: Fight Forever will include Single Match, Tag-Team, 3-Way, 4-Way, Ladder Matches, Casino Battle Royale, Falls Count Anywhere, Unsanctioned Lights-Out (with use of weapons), Exploding Barbed Wire Death Matches, Career Mode, Online Multiplayer, Leaderboards, and a raft of customisation options including Custom Wrestlers, Custom Move-Sets, Custom Entrances, Custom Teams, and Custom Arenas.

THQ and Yuke's will be sharing more about AEW: Fight Forever on 12th August, which will be coming to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch.

  • Xbox accidently revealed the trailer to be shown on the 12th and it was not the greatest slice of the game. The trailer is super awkward and the wrestling shown is Britt vs Adam Cole. It does show minigames, which could be fun, like a music game, a homerun derby, some sort of coin collecting dash.

I'm hoping the trailers are just a bad representation of a decent game, cause I'd love a No Mercy/NWO Revenge type game again.
