Retro-style side-scrolling city smashing action game Gigapocalypse is out today, delivering Kaiju smackdowns between monsters inspired by movie titans like Godzilla and King Kong.
Influenced by arcade classics like Rampage, Gigapocalypse features a roster of nine fearsome, customisable ‘Gigas’ beasties, all of which are entirely capable of levelling cities, as the game's heavy metal soundtrack plays in the background. Each location also has its own boss, and as you progress, you'll be able to earn mutation points to spend on upgrading your Giga.
Mutation points can be used to unlock new mutations, skills, or skins, or you can purchase up to five minion pets to take with you. Tamagotchi-style mini-games also enable you to decorate your Giga's home, where you'll take care of your monster, and “make them more menacing”. You can take a look at what Gigapocalypse has to offer in the launch trailer below.
Gigapocalypse will be available today for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch, priced $9.99/£7.99/€9.99.
