Fatal Fury is Getting a Brand New Game

Fatal Fury is Getting a Brand New Game

Matt Lorrigan

SNK has announced that a new game in the Fatal Fury series is in development for the first time since the '90s.

The classic fighting game series began life on the Neo Geo in 1991 with Fatal Fury: King of Fighters, with the final title being Garou: Mark of the Wolves, released in 1999. The series was succeeded by SNK's King of Fighters series, which brought over several characters from Fatal Fury, and it seemed unlikely a new entry would ever release - until now.

The new Fatal Fury game appears to be in the very early stages of development, with the first teaser trailer revealing only a piece of concept art, as well as a message revealing that the game has been greenlit. As such, we don't have any confirmation of platforms, but with SNK releasing KOF 15 on both Xbox and PlayStation, we'd hope Fatal Fury would also make the move.
