Developer and publisher Dovetail Games has announced that Train Sim World 3, the “next leap forward” for the Train Sim World series, will be launching this September. The new game will introduce new weather dynamics, longer routes, and a dedicated Training Center for new and veteran Train Simmers alike.
Aiming to “break new ground in realism”, Train Sim World 3 will also support add-ons from Train Sim World 2, so players can continue playing with all of the routes and engines they've previously purchased. Volumetric skies, a new lighting system, and weather systems that encompass snow, thunderstorms, and leaves on the line, will also offer differing driving conditions to contend with, and challenges to overcome.
The Training Center will enable you to ease into the experience, before tackling a range of routes, including California's Cajon Pass, with gradients that will put the BNSF’s ES44C4, and SD40-2 locomotives through their paces. You'll also be able to run Germany's high-speed ICE 3 and ICE 1 passenger trains across the 116 mile Kaseel to Würzburg route.
Train Sim World 3 will include an “extended and enhanced” version of the fan favourite Southeastern Highspeed route in the UK, too, taking you across the Chatham main line, via Kent, London, Ashford, and Dartford. The speedy Class 395 ‘Javelin’, and slower Class 375 and 465 EMUs commuter trains will also feature. At launch, you can also expect several DLC packages, including the Training Center and 1 route expansions.
Train Sim World 3 is due to launch for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC on 6th September, with pre-orders granting 4-day early access, a 10% discount, and bonus decal pack. A Deluxe Edition of Train Sim World 3 is available to pre-order for $59.99/£49.99/€59.99 (bundling an upgraded version of TSW 2's 'Spirit of Steam' expansion), with four Starter Pack DLCs also available for $39.99/£29.99/€35.99 apiece.
