Dear Esther developer The Chinese Room and publisher Secret Mode have today announced that Little Orpheus, the award-winning ‘technicolour’ side-scrolling adventure released for Apple Arcade in 2020, will be heading to consoles and PC in September.
Previously due to land back in March before a last-minute delay, Little Orpheus transports you to 1962, during which time you play as Soviet cosmonaut Ivan Ivanovich, as NASA strives to put a man on the moon. In a remote region of Siberia, Ivan finds his exploration capsule dropped into an extinct volcano, where he vanishes for three years.
Having journeyed to the centre of the Earth, Ivan emerges claiming to have saved the world, and you'll get to experience his fantastical voyage, visiting lost civilisations, undersea kingdoms, prehistoric jungles, and outlandish realms. This version of Little Orpheus will also be the most definitive yet, with high-resolution textures, new animations, enhanced visuals and effects, and no changes to its content (in light of current world events).
Little Orpheus will be coming to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on 13th September. Check out the latest trailer below.
