I'm a cheevo hoe so i won't be buying itTuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 04:18 AM
Damn, figures that a GOOD game gets deserved DLC, and no achievements. I'll pick this up, but sometime in a few months I guess, when the new releases are scarce.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 04:20 AM
It does not matter if this has cheevos or not the game itself is superb anyways i have my 1000g on itTuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 04:22 AM
Im buying it anyway, but what a let down... Ubisoft shame on you.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 04:23 AM
That's a shame. I could've sworn that if there was a price for dlc they had to have achievements attached. Damn you brain for tricking me!Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 04:27 AM
Really glad to hear it to be honest, I can keep it as a 100% on my dashboard now :)Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 04:27 AM
Too bad but I'll buy this anyway, AC 2 is awesome!Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 04:38 AM
Dissapointed but I'll be picking it up on release day nontheless.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 04:39 AM
Because it was already part of the original game, they just left it out for the easy cash.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 04:40 AM
They're charging us for content removed from the original game and don't even bother to add chievos ?? Not buying.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 04:40 AM
They could've released it for free then if they wanted because I swear the rule is if DLC doesn't have achievements then it can be released for free. But then again the DLC looks good and should be worth the money but this announcement will hit the sales abit I reckonTuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 04:42 AM
Ill buy it later on, AC2 is still a pick up and play game for me. I havent beat the story yet and im not rushing it ill play it when i feel like it :) However the game is indeed awesomeTuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 04:42 AM
Love AC2 so this is a definite buy with or without achievements.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 04:51 AM
FUUUUUUU Anyway, I'll buy this one later, I'm still playing the story.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 04:51 AM
This is a good thing. I feel DLC with achievements forces you to buy it if you want to have the max amount of gamerscore. I will buy this regardless of extra achievements. I also hope MW2 dont add achievements to their upcoming DLC.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 04:54 AM
yea i dont really see the big deal, achievements woulda been nice, but as is the case with any game i love i will buy the dlc regardlessTuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 04:56 AM
I was going to buy this, however lack of achievements for such a high profile DLC pack is atrocious, Ubisoft will see reduced sales and only have themselves to blame, ill be buying this only when it goes on discount sale, they will proberly patch it with achievmenets later on once they see how bad there sales are.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 04:57 AM
I also have 1000g, will still pick it up as its amazing and will fill in some story gaps but very dissappointed there's no chievo's.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 04:59 AM
Good. 1000 is a much nicer than some stupid random number.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 05:07 AM
no achievements - no buyTuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 05:09 AM
phew.... thank god I don't have to fully complete another game.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 05:12 AM
Thank god. Though I smell an experiment here - if the sales are dismal because Achievement Whores don't buy it, then I'd almost guarantee that the second DLC in February will come with Achievements.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 05:12 AM
Cant be bothered with it it.. I know it sounds sad not buying it caus of no chieves but I wanted some. If it did I would of got it to keep my 100% but now thats not getting touched I wont bother.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 05:15 AM
even if it was a good game, completing the remaining chapters with no reward is pointless. Bad decision UbisoftTuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 05:15 AM
Who ever is not going to buy the DLC just cause it doesnt have achievements is stupid plain and simple.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 05:22 AM
Seriously, if the DLC is good does it really matter if it has achievements or not? What if the second DLC also shows up without cheevos? Are you not gonna download them because of that? It's also better to not put any achievements. 1000/1000 looks better. Besides the game will last longer for me, since I haven't started it yet. So when the second DLC shows up, I might give it a shot. Seeing that the first game sucked so much ass. It was such a bad game, hoping though that the second one is better.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 05:29 AM
oh noez! ;[Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 05:29 AM
It is annoying that there's no achievements for it but I'll still get the DLC's as I really enjoyed playing the game. More of it to play is always good.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 05:37 AM
disappointed...Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 05:38 AM
It's a shame but I love the game so i'm still gonna but itTuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 05:40 AM
just leaves me more time to play ME2 thenTuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 05:45 AM
meh i dont care its a great game and hopefully it will be good DLC.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 05:54 AM
WHO CARES? Good lord guys.. it's cheap and it's awesome. It's not like any of you have anything better to do anyways. I'm buying it, I don't care about achievements.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 05:58 AM
we care hence why were on an achievement whore website. im still gonna play it but its lame that it doesnt have cheevosTuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 06:04 AM
@33 I couldn't agree more with you if the content wasn't took off the original game in the first place. I mean I already purchased the game and now they wanna charge me for something I should already have been playing ? It's maybe cheap but without even botherig adding achievements it's nothing else than a rip off.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 06:05 AM
Sadface... Oh well, I'm buying it anyway. Achievements would have been nice, though.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 06:06 AM
F**k achievements! You should still buy the DLC, you shouldn't play game just for poxy achievements, I'm getting the DLC and guess what, I couldn't give a monkeys about achievements.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 06:07 AM
They should at least add one like Dragon Age. A story related one such as "Complete the Battle of Forli" How hard can that be? Oh well, I'm happy with my 1000/1000. I might buy later after I get all my Mass Effect 2 cheevos.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 06:09 AM
It would have been nice if there were some new achievements but come on guys... If you're not gonna buy it just because it doesn't have new achievements you're pretty stupid. Don't get me wrong, I like to score as high as possible in the games I play, but not buying something just because it doesn't give you extra GS is lame.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 06:10 AM
That is really disappointing, but I loved this game, so I will still buy... :(Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 06:12 AM
Iwould have got it if it would ruin my 100% but now, I don't think soTuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 06:17 AM
No achievements = No buy Ubisoft learn im selling AC2 nowTuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 06:21 AM
Not sure how a lot of you people played games before achievements, I mean, what tangible reward did you get? Morons. Also, to those that are saying this was taken out of the game, you may want to read up on the protocol of game development/publishing. Get the stick out your ass. On topic: no achievments? Doesn't matter. To not buy the DLC of one of 2009's best games is blasphemy.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 06:31 AM
I guess I'll just wait for the platinum hits version. I might be done DA:O adn ME2 by then. Maybe...Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 06:32 AM
The sales will surely suffer without it adding new achievements. Why do developers even decide to to that?Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 06:33 AM
I love how so many people "Stop whining about achievements" and "Achievements don't matter!" This is an achievement site. If DLC that is priced doesn't have achievements, it is bound to cause an uproar on a site such as this. Nevertheless, I still haven't finished the story, but if I enjoy the rest of the game I'll probably get the DLC.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 06:34 AM
The fact that for so many people achievements and gamerscore are more important than quality and actual gameplay is significant in terms of mentality to me. On the flipside of this, Ubisoft are pretty lazy not have included achievements for those people who are obsessed about how their gamerscore looks on their card. Considering Ubisoft announced such dismal sales figures they havent done themselves many favours by alienating a portion of their fanbase. However, as Br0kenAssass1n stated, think back to the days when games didnt have achievements.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 06:36 AM
Oh well, I can't say I'm all that bothered really. I really enjoyed my time with Assassin's Creed 2 so any excuse to play more of it is okay by me. :) Achievements would have been nice but in the grand scheme of things that is a very minor detail. Bring on the DLC!Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 06:49 AM
I think #10 got it right. It's a great, great game. But they decide to remove content from it, then they release it later for MS points without any achievements? That just seems like total bullshit to me, tbh.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 06:55 AM
Didn't like the game compared to the original, No achivement's for the DLC = absolutely no reason to ever put this in my 360 again :)Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 07:01 AM
Who cares, it's more Assassin's Creed motherfuckers!Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 07:03 AM
Not buying it then probably waste of my money.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 07:05 AM
Meh, I'll pass for now. I know it's shallow (and I'm talking shot glass here), but hey, it's the way I play, for better or worse. Achievements have just become such a part of 360 games for me that it's hard to find motivation to play without them. In the end, I avert blame to Microsoft for introducing gamer score to begin with. I'd probably buy/rent a lot more games if I wasn't such an achievement/completion percentage whore(-der), like back in my SNES and PS2 days when I didn't have to worry about that stuff. Oh, nostalgia ain't what it used to be XD And personally, since these memories apparently weren't part of the main story, I'm curious at all the people saying they removed it from the actual game. More like they planned to have DLC from the start and decided en medias res was theTuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 07:14 AM
Nope...not buying.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 07:18 AM
Maybe they will create additional Uplay points for the DLC as your reward for purchase has anyone looked into that? I am an achievment junkie but the game was brilliant and this DLC has enticed me into buying the game again. (Why oh why did I trade you :( ) DTuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 07:18 AM
I'll be buying it regardless of Achievements, seriously.. Their a cool thing to work on, but they shouldn't lord over whats worth buying and what isn't.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 07:32 AM
The game itself was too short. I got its 1000G in 5 days and i was taking my damn time too. Was really mad i payed so much for such a short game. I would have bought the DLC if it had achievements but since not, i won't be buying it. I can easily find playthrough videos of the DLC on Youtube for free. No Achievements - No Buy!Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 07:34 AM
Bit of a shame. Will be like old days when you just played a game for the fun of it...wierd!Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 07:36 AM
No buy for me, if games are going to 1750 now why the hell don't they get achievements in this one they have a lot to work with. This gonna be like 800 pints? What a waste of money!Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 07:37 AM
@51 You got that right. You all should be glad they included DLC with the game instead of leaving two sequences blank. Oh well, I guess most of you will be missing out on a great addition to one of the greatest games of 2009.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 07:39 AM
I probably won't bother with this either. If I hadn't run through the game already I might have, but otherwise, bollocks to them. What a stupid move from Ubi though.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 07:42 AM
Still a day one buy for me :) Been waiting to add extra life to the storyline, can't wait.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 07:56 AM
@22 Or you know, they could just be releasing their DLC without achievements because they don't want to add any. I know it sounds crazy, but we don't need more achievements for every DLC.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 08:05 AM
Wont be buying it then, simple as, thanks for heads up x360a.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 08:09 AM
Called it. With Mass Effect out today I doubt I will take the time to pick up this dlc just for a few hours of gameplay with no achievements.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 08:30 AM
There goes those sales! Nice call Ubisoft.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 08:40 AM
If you enjoyed the game, but DON'T buy the DLC solely because it doesn't have achievements, it makes me wonder if these points haven't made you blind for what gaming is all about. Surely it should never be achievements over gameplay...Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 08:46 AM
Interesting to see so many people who would take achievement points over a good game.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 08:54 AM
Hmmm...it looks like Ubisoft doesn't want to sell much DLC then, huh? Let's face it...cheeves have reshaped modern gaming at this point in time. If the casual gamer doesn't care about cheeves...then it's most likely that the casual gamer even knows about the latest DLC releases...and I say this due to the ways in which news like that is released. Think about it...game websites...and the dashboard are the most common ways...and do you think that the casual gamer spends much time at either place? Which leaves this DLC purchase aimed at the core gamer...and MOST...core gamers DO care about cheeves. So,...all that being said...why in the wide, wide world of sports would release story-related DLC for one of the best games of 2009...and NOT have cheeves? This has to be one of big blunders ofTuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 08:55 AM
nice, saves me from having to buy the game again, it was an amazing game and all, but there's a lot of good games coming out now (the reason why i sold assassin's creed 2 in the 1st place) so this is definitely good newsTuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 09:09 AM
The DLC is non-essential to the storyline, so fuck you ubi.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 09:11 AM
You guys are morons. "No achievements = no buy" is ridiculous. You have clearly lost sight of the original purpose of being a gamer: TO PLAY AND ENJOY THE GAMES. If you didn't love the game, its a different story. But all these people say "hurr I loved the game but no cheevos? I won't pay $4 for extra content to expand an already excellent experience." I love achievements, I really do. But something I will NEVER do is let achievements get in the way of the original purpose of the game, which is to have fun. However, its apparent that a Gamerscore is "more important" than an experience.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 09:16 AM
Will wait for price drop like I do for all DLC.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 09:22 AM
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the game!! but it almost seems not so finished to me!! First off, these chapters should have already beed in the game! So how can they even think about selling us thess chapters with out no incentive!!Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 09:24 AM
I didn't buy AC2 and was pretty proud to have 1k'd it in the space of a rental(not a gamefly rental btw), so I'm actually glad to hear this. I know it's a bit selfish, but I hope it never gets achievements because I've only ever completed about 3 or 4 games and I would be pretty disappointed to lose one to DLC achievements since, as a personal rule, I will never buy DLC for a rented game.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 09:24 AM
I agree wit everybody who won't buy the dlc without the achievements. All of u who says u don't care bout them and gonna buy it anyway r a bunch of suckers!!!!! If it was originally in the game n they took it out just to make more profit then it should include achvs 4 our pleasure. N for all of u who say u don't care about achvs, u obviously do if ur on this site like the rest of us so get off ur high horse n stop actin like ur special. What we all need to do is email ubisoft about cheating us consumers by doin what they did by takin out content that was already there n charging us for it.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 09:31 AM
No achievements = No buy It's waste money.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 09:37 AM
I'm with #72. I would like this DLC have achievements, but I don't need an ultimately meaningless number to make me want to play this game again. I loved AC2 and will eventually get both DLCs once I have a little more money.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 09:41 AM
@ #76 Don't project your views onto everyone else. I feel that the story of AC2 transcends achievements. I enjoy earning achievements, but they're not what makes or breaks a purchase. I play games to have fun, and I can have fun without achievements and trophies. Good luck with that e-mail you're going to be sending to Ubisoft. I hope that when/if you send it, you don't type like a text-addicted twelve year old girl.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 09:45 AM
Don't want it? Don't buy it.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 09:48 AM
There's a difference between buying a game/content FOR achievements and not buying a game/content because it DOESN'T HAVE achievements.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 09:58 AM
Achievements or not, I'll be buying it. Reasonable price, more AC2. Fine with me. @ 81: Before you chastise anybody about spelling and typing and schooling, realize that about parts of your post were grammatically impaired, too. Why an apostrophe before nearly every word ending in S? Unless you did that on purpose. If so, good show. Clever..... That post was pretty ridiculous though, I have to agree.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 10:04 AM
LAME - I'll spend my MSP elsewhere then...Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 10:07 AM
I don't get why so many people are disappointed. At least no-one's being punished for not buying the DLC with an incomplete gamerscore percentage, I think more developers should do this.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 10:30 AM
I will still get this as the game is great, but why not add more gamerscore and achievements if Microsoft allows it? That surely can't take a whole lot of time and resources to program in and would cause a bunch of fencesitters to buy the DLC. I've bought DLC for games I hated before like TimeShift just to get the new achievements.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 10:39 AM
Boo, achievements would be deciding the factor in whether I got this DLC or not. I really liked AC2, but I have to many other games with achievements to play. Maybe they will include achievements for both DLC packs in the second DLC.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 10:40 AM
Well they will lose my money then.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 10:47 AM
Still getting this, shame theres no chevos but at least it dosent cost too muchTuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 10:48 AM
I for one won't be getting it then... Let down I think you wouldn't give a brand new game no cheevo's >.>Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 10:51 AM
every fucking dlc does not need extra achievements, its fucking ridiculous that games are at 1150, 1250 and even 1750. when dlc was released a couple of years ago, no-one was bitching about how it should include achos. whats wrong with keeping it at 1000, at least there was some uniformity about it, now its all over the fucking place. a game is about the fucking game and how it plays, not the achos, if your influenced by the fucking achos then your a complete and utter retard. I for one win be buying this, love the game, achievements or not. and to anyone bitching about grammar or spelling mistakes, get a fucking life, its a forum, not an english exam.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 10:53 AM
I'll be buying this as it only 320MS points, it's a shame there are no achievements but I enjoyed the game.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 10:55 AM
No achievements = a bad move from Ubisoft. It's been proven that achievements help sales. Anyway, i'll probably still get this eventually, but it is no longer a day 1 buy from me. I'll probably get it when I don't have anything else to play. Mass Effect 2 is what i'll be playing then anyway.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 11:02 AM
people need to realize that achievements give people purpose to buy dlcTuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 11:06 AM
I won't be buying this then, sorry Ubisoft :)Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 11:08 AM
I for one and glad, i getting pretty tired of dlc in general, especially when they add ach.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 11:09 AM
I, as well, will be skipping this one. There are so many other quality games out there now to work on and get rewarded with gamerscore. Hell, if gamerscore wasn't important, I'd probably play my PS3 once in a while.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 11:13 AM
For me a lack of achievements means I will not purchase this content, regardless of how great the game was. Maybe if it ever gets DoTW in the future I may consider it then...Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 11:21 AM
I'll be giving this one a miss then.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 11:29 AM
:(Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 11:34 AM
Meh, disapointed but I loved the game so ill be getting this anyway.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 11:41 AM
AWESOME! Now I can wait to play this. I actually respect them alot more for this. As it should be, good games don't have to add achievements to force people to buy their DLC to keep their 100%.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 11:48 AM
just lost my sale as well...brilliant move. it's just astonishing how inept these companies act sometimes, and no, i don't need to be flamed. i know it's a fantastic game and not EVERYONE is a chievo hoe, but they really, really, really add to the experience if appreciated right. companies should learn to embrace them rather than just 'add them' out of convenience.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 11:51 AM
NO CHEEVOS....NO SALE!! actually i spent $80 for the CE so forget even spending any MORE money for this game that took me less then 8 hours to beat!!!!Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 11:52 AM
its such a good game! even thou i love it soooo much no achievements no sale =[ hopefully the next one will =]Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 11:58 AM
man....that was very dissapointing. the one game's DLC that i was actually excited about and it has no achievements. with that said, i'll still buy it if it's a quality DLC. i'll wait for some reviews first and if it's something like 30 mins long with no extras added to the game then no buy for me.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 12:10 PM
No achievements = ACE! Games should stop at the 1000. Fact. That way you can buy a game and then trade it in when it's maxed without fear of it suddenly upping to 1250 or more. If the content is good then fine, charge for it. But don't add achievements EVER. I can't believe people here are unhappy about it. Some people have no perspective.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 12:26 PM
very happy there's no achievements, hate buying dlc. never feel like i actually own something. i avoid dlc unless it comes out on a retail disc (thank you gta episodes..)Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 12:27 PM
That's kinda good for me. Rented it so at least I won't have to get it back to play the DLC and get the achieves. Prob would have bought the DLC, regardless of achieves, if I owned the game.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 12:31 PM
@107 I do agree that if the game isn't multiplayer based and it's a one playthrough game I would like to only rent it or trade it in after. I hate getting stuck with new games without much replayability because my accursed mind won't let me get rid of it for fear of some unannounced DLC. I don't have this game becuase for some reason I don't like this type (along with Prince of Persia). Though i'm thinking about giving AC 2 a try in the near future, but I guess I need some convincing...Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 12:57 PM
F*&%ing ubisoft. I Personally respect both views to dlc achievements, but i think ubisoft's history with glitched achievements are legendary, so they probably can't be bothered with the hassle. still, no chievos, no sale. theres no point if its not related to the main story.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 01:17 PM
I'll buy it either way, I wish there were achievements though. I see the fact that there's no achievements as proof they left this memory sequence and the next one out on purpose, to squeeze a few extra bucks out of us, with as little work as possible. They looked at the finished game, said "Wait, these 2 sequences don't have any achievements tied to them. We can pull them from the full game, then release them as-is to the people for a price later on. This way we make more money and do less work."Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 01:24 PM
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD STOP SAYING 'CHEEVOS!' WHOEVER STARTED THAT WORD NEEDS TO PUT A PISTOL IN THEIR MOUTH AND SHOOT! That word, not assassins creed 2 not having achievements, is the real crime here.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 01:34 PM
Yay! Now I get to see if it is actually good before I buy it. I'll buy it if it is good, but if it is along the lines of the Prince of Persia epilogue, I will pass.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 01:35 PM
I hate the term cheevos as well.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 01:36 PM
@114, what do you mean? You can't demo it or anything ya know.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 01:59 PM
well I was gonna get this but I will have to p[ass now.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 02:16 PM
A let down for sure , more proof they left out to milk the cash cow, i guess some people will buy it, a bad trend to be started...not on my list to buyTuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 02:24 PM
well i quess i bought a point card for nothing bastardsTuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 02:27 PM
there's a crime for saying "cheevos" ? So what. Get over it. As for the DLC...not buying it I'm afraid. Reason being...no cheevos!Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 02:31 PM
Troll, troll, troll the comments... You're so cool Reaper Grim...Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 02:34 PM
No buy for me, I'll just watch some vids for it on youtube. Would have bought if it came with cheevos, cause i need to retain my 100% completion of this brilliant game. Achievements with DLC=More sales...Ubisoft=Stupid. So many gamers are not going to buy this DLC now because it doesn't come with any achievements, and at the end of the day, its Ubisoft who aren't making as much moneyTuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 02:37 PM
I felt like this DLC in no way would add to the overall story. It all takes place before the game ends, so besides expanding on secondary characters, it does nothing but add a few more hours of game play. My only previous incentive to buy the DLC was achievements and getting to enjoy the great game play even more. So now they are trying to just sell me extra bits of game play that doesn't expand on the overall story, or even give me some sort of cheap reward? Yeah, no sale.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 02:41 PM
@51 Yeah because I totally wanna get DLC that was most likely removed from the game and beat it in an hour with no reward. Makes perfect sense guy.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 02:42 PM
Oh well, guess I'll just wait for it to become a DotW then. I'll be too busy with ME2 to bother with this anyway.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 02:54 PM
There are people who 1000/platinumed this game and won't get Forli because it has no achievements? I'm sorry, did you not enjoy AC2? Pathetic.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 03:02 PM
i loved the game and will for sure get this. cheevos would have been nice but can do without. my 100% is fine with me :)Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 03:05 PM
Won't be a day 1 buy for me then, I'll save my ms points and get it another time.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 03:07 PM
This DLC will be a lot of fun. I do not care if there are achievements, I can make my own goals for games, I do not need garbo developers making s*** goals for me.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 03:08 PM
@ #126 It's more like: Ubi has confirmed to us that they left out this sequence and the other one on purpose, to try to squeeze more money out with as little work as possible. I'm still getting it, but I can see why so many people are saying they wont. I'm pretty unhappy about the way Ubi has handled this. As #122 said, this will only hurt Ubi.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 03:11 PM
I will probablly pick this up instead of just waiting the aganozing wait that is known as DA:O's RtO . . . .Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 03:14 PM
i just saved some money by refusing to download this. sweet.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 03:18 PM
Ok, I'm gonne buy it only if it gets on the Deal of the week in any future, and it goes for the second DLC as well if it doesn't have any cheevos!Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 03:37 PM
$4 = 2 hours of gameplay. A better deal than most DLC, but meh, I could spend that time studying for exams or playing Mass Effect 2. No achievements is a definite no.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 04:20 PM
No achievements=No sale. I was saving MS points for this, too.I'll use it on a Mass Effect 2 premium theme if they make one.Or some TV episodes. Not like I was gonna stop playing ME2 for this, anyways. Was just gonna download it and play it in a month or so,haha.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 04:31 PM
They will be losing so many sales to buyers and the only people who are happy bout this are the cheap people you dont wanna ruin there completion on it um guess what if they had achievements you could get them and then have 100% duh...Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 04:38 PM
A shame, because this makes me rethink the purchase. I mean really, why not?Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 04:39 PM
No achievements = No buyTuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 04:45 PM
Herp derp is clearly both herp and derp, gentlemen.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 05:51 PM
Too bad. I'll still get it but would it have killed them to add a couple of easy achievements? Hell, even just one big one for synching the sequence would have been enough.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 05:52 PM
YES =D I already have the 1000 so I didn't really want to spend any more time playing that excellent game.Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 06:19 PM
@ #16 i agree with you dudeTuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 06:42 PM
I'd get it if only the GOTY did not come out today...Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 08:00 PM
@#98 WTF?! Are you crazy the dlc is crazzzy cheap, how can it be on DOTW anytime if it's already lower than any other DOTW price? Lol fail anyway, to those who won't be buying it b/c of the lack of achievements is a loss for you, sure it wouldve been nice, but anyway it's sad with these people lolz!Tuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 09:31 PM
No achievements = No buyTuesday, January 26, 2010 @ 10:25 PM
I agree with the no buyers. take content out of the game then make me pay for it without giving me some sort of reward. no thanks.Wednesday, January 27, 2010 @ 01:29 AM
The only reason they left the two sequences out of the game was because they didn't have enough time to finish them, and decided to actually finish them for us, rather than putting them in unfinished and dragging the game experience down. I think they should be free, but hell, I'll buy it anyway.Wednesday, January 27, 2010 @ 09:12 AM
This is good news to me, I was gonna buy it just to keep myself at 100% completion, but now I can put the points towards Splosion Man instead and pick the DLC up at a later date when my points are more disposable (aka when I start my new job). Though this is very strange, and not good for business. Just add one achievement for beating all the new missions for like 100G, it can't be that hard.Wednesday, January 27, 2010 @ 04:59 PM
Truly a shame :( I'll still buy it. Good thing they are only charging 320MS for this. If it had achievements, I'd pay 400MS.Wednesday, January 27, 2010 @ 06:16 PM
I love when people go to a website dedicated to achievements and act like they don't care about achievements. I will not be buying this because every DLC I've ever purchased has come with achievements. Its a feature that is supposed to be included. I think (and kinda hope) that this DLC flops because they clearly could have just included it in the retail game. I thought maybe it was just Microsoft at first not allowing them cuz the DLC is cheaper than most until I found out theres no trophies for it either. Shame...Wednesday, January 27, 2010 @ 10:32 PM
@#91 - lol good one, that comment made my day, especially that last bit... Or...maybe Ubisoft will release 250GS for the 2nd DLC guys...lolzFriday, January 29, 2010 @ 07:24 PM
I just finished reading the book based on AC2 2 notes ago. It was nice to do the new dlc mem strand so soon after reading the book. Reading the book which included the cut sequences defo helped with the continuity in the new dlc w/ regards to where it fits in the full story arc. It wouldve been better with cheevos. I still liked it tho. However, most games' dlc if there is no cheevo it's a no-buy for me. AC2 is a rare exception.Monday, February 15, 2010 @ 12:41 PM
For all you people dissing on achievement whores. First of all why the hell are you on an achievement whore website if you don't care about achievements and secondly achievements enhance the games gameplay. So if you don't care about achievements get the fuck off of this website and go play Nintendo Wii!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but we got word from Ubisoft this morning, specifically UK Community Manager Korina Abbott, that the Assassin's Creed 2 DLC will not come with new achievements... well, the one this week anyway.
They may change their mind for the second piece (we doubt it), but don't expect achievements for The Battle of Forli (out on Thursday, 28th).
Sorry folks.
