Publisher 505 Games has announced that it's bringing Death Stranding to PC Game Pass next week, as per the rumour that emerged earlier this week. Developer Kojima Productions will be dropping the original version of its critcally-acclaimed epic open world delivery game for the first time on the Microsoft ecosystem.

First released for PS4 in 2019, Death Stranding stars The Walking Dead actor Norman Reedus as Sam ‘Porter’ Bridges, as he trudges his way across the remnants of the United Cities of America, journeying westward to reconnect the last vestiges of humanity via the game's Social Strand System.

Meanwhile, Sam must deal with the fallout of a supernatural phenomenon, known as the Death Stranding, using scarce resources to build structures that can help other players, like ziplines, bridges, highways, safehouses, and charging points to refuel your vehicles. You can then like the structures of other players, and in turn, like yours.

Death Stranding will be coming to PC Game Pass on 23rd August, and you can read our original review of the PS4 version on our sister site here. The PC Game Pass version of Death Stranding will also include the Chiral Gold / Omnireflector “Ludens Mask” Sunglasses (Color Variant), Gold and Silver Power Skeleton, Gold and Silver All-Terrain Skeleton, and Gold and Silver Armor Plate as bonus items.

  • Something tells me that Sony will never let this go to the Xbox consoles.
  • @1 - I'd love to see it on Xbox, but I think you might be right.
  • I was waiting to upgrade to the Director's Cut before my 5th playthrough, but achievements are a great reason to also. Wonder if the upgrade is gonna be available for purchase?
