2K and Gearbox Software have officially announced New Tales from the Borderlands, the long-awaited, might-never-have-happened sequel to Telltale's Tales from the Borderlands, featuring a new cast of characters in a new adventure.

In New Tales from the Borderlands, you'll take on the role of “loveable losers" Anu, Octavio, and Fran, as they face down a planetary invasion, fight Vault monsters, and take on a series of greedy, cold-hearted capitalists. Oh, and save the world.

Billed as a “cinematic thrill ride”, New Tales from the Borderlands will be launching for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on 21st October 2022. Check out the announcement trailer below.

  • I loved Tales from the Borderlands. It was one of Tell Tales best games I think. Up there with Walking Dead and Wolf Among Us for me. I want to be excited for this one too...but after the the writing took a massive downswing with BL3 and then plummeted off a cliff and died in a fiery unbadass explosion with Wonderlands, I'm tempering my expectations. I have all the faith in the world for Tell Tale to tell a good story. I'm just concerned with the hacks over at Gearbox screwing it up by forcing bad characters into it for whatever reason. Also hope they don't neuter the series trademark humor in favor of this tame toothless trash they served up in their last couple games in the franchise. Go back to the way the jokes hit in BL1 and BL2 and we're in business.
  • @1 - Unfortunately, Telltale has absolutely nothing to do with this game. It's not even confirmed if it follows the Telltale style or they're just using a similar name to dupe people into buying it. This is 100% Gearbox and I'm probably not going to play it because of that.
  • Can Randy top the finger-gun fight? Probably not.
  • @2 Wow really? I had no idea. I was surprised when I looked on the store and it said you get premium currency or something with it. And I was scratching my head what you'd need currency for in a TT game. They're just point and clicks. Man I'm glad I didn't preorder this yet. I need to do more research before committing more money to a dumpster fire after Wonderlands.
