Obsidian Entertainment has announced that Pentiment, its unique narrative adventure told in the style of illuminated manuscripts and woodcuts, will be launching in November. Set in 16th century upper Bavaria during the reign of the Holy Roman Empire, Pentiment envelops protagonist Andreas Maler in a series of murders and scandals, spanning 25 years.
An intelligent journeyman artist, Andreas will face a series of choices as he makes his way across the fictional town of Tassing and Kiersau Abbey, determining his educational background and lifestyle, to his method of investigation. You'll be able to sneak into the abbey under the cover of darkness to obtain secret documents, or squeeze information from participants of a tavern's favourite card game.
Each decision and accusation Andreas makes will bring certain consequences with it, potentially leaving an imprint on the Alpine community for generations.
