MGM, Good Shepherd Entertainment, and developer Teravision Games have announced Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game, a 3v7 asymmetrical online multiplayer game inspired by the 1988 cult horror film. Headed up by Friday the 13th: The Game designer Randy Greenback, Killer Klowns aims to be a “panic-inducing” affair, faithful to the atmosphere of the Chiodo Brothers movie.

Three players will team up as the titular alien Klowns, as they attempt to murder and feed upon a band of seven humans in the quiet town of Crescent Cove, with each side able choose from several different chaacter classes in an “expansive ever-changing” map brimming with “creepy surprises”. On the Killer Klowns' side, you'll have weird weapons to help you harvest the humans, while the citizens of Crescent Cove will be able to fight back with weapons and valuable loot.

Featuring a “unique approach” to the asymmetrical multiplayer horror genre's hide-and-seek gameplay, as well as PvPvE action, dynamic objectives, a raft of customisation, and a respawn system that promises to keep things interesting, Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game will be looking to evolve the formula when it launches for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC in early 2023.

  • Awesome! I rarely play these horror movie games but I'll definitely have an eye on this one.
  • I loved the Friday the 13th game so I'm looking forward to another 80s horror IP getting this treatment. Hopefully, there will be some significant single-player content as well.
  • Currently still casually playing Evil Dead so will most likely check this out, too.
  • 3 vs 7 that sounds freaking awesome
  • @Blade Runner 07: That doesn't seem to be their M.O., unfortunately. I wish it was. They'd make a buttload of money off of me. But I rarely play online-only games so instead I wait until they're dirt cheap and no one's playing them anymore!
