2K has showcased a bunch of new features coming to NBA 2K23's MyTeam, including new cards, rewards, and the introduction of 3v3 Triple Threat Online: Co-Op. The new My Team will also eliminate the need for contracts, and the annual $250,000 MyTeam Unlimited Tournament will also be making a return.
“We’ve implemented a number of highly requested changes to MyTeam this year that were top of mind for our community, including the removal of contracts, along with the addition of Triple Threat Online: Co-Op that allows players to team up with friends for the first time ever to test their skills in Co-Op 3v3 online gameplay,” said Erick Boenisch, VP of NBA Development at 2K and Visual Concepts.

Triple Threat in MyTeam will enable players to team up for 3-on-3 online matches, across Party Mode, Co-Op, and Competitive Online, while new Prestige Tiers will enable any players who reach the top tier to start again and unlock further rewards by earning Seson Points. A single-player version of the fast-paced Clutch Time will also feature.

Starter Cards will offer a choice between All-Stars Ja Morant, Jimmy Butler, or Joel Embiid, with the ability to play using their Starter Card choices in a Triple Threat game before making a final decision. Playing ten games in any MyTeam mode will also unlock the Amethyst Fred Jones card with a 90 OVR rating.

In Exhibitions, you'll be able to send players cards not in your 13-player line-up off on vacation, returning with a special reward upon completing their mission. And the Tropjy Case will offer a new way to earn top tier players from each NBA franchise, with a total of 15 Event Cards for each, including a Pink Diamond player per team.

Finally, to take part in the $250,000 MyTeam Unlimited Tournament, available for each console generation, you'll need to reach Emerald Tier before 15th October. Finalists will compete in-person to determine the $50,000 Console Champions, and $200,000 Grand Champions winner.

NBA 2K23 will be launching on 9th September for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC, with MyTeam progress from Xbox One or PS4 able to be transferred over to the Xbox Series X|S or PlayStation 5 versions (within the same console family).
