While Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard undergoes continued investigation, Xbox boss Phil Spencer has declared that Call of Duty, Overwatch, and Diablo will be coming to Xbox Game Pass.

“Game Pass empowers developers to bring more games to more players, not fewer,” Spencer wrote in a statement on the company's Activision Blizzard deal. “We intend to make Activision Blizzard’s much-loved library of games – including Overwatch, Diablo and Call of Duty – available in Game Pass and to grow those gaming communities.”

Spencer adds that the addition of the Call of Duty series, as well as Overwatch 2 and the Diablo games to Xbox Game Pass will deliver “even more value to players”, as well as helping to grow the service, alongside “extending its appeal to mobile phones and any connected device”.

No time frame has been confirmed for the arrival of Call of Duty, Overwatch, and Diablo for Game Pass, but you'd expect the games to drop shortly once the dust has finally settled on the Xbox and Activision Blizzard deal.

  • So dont buy Modern Warfarr 2²? Got it.
  • OW2 is F2P, so I'm guessing they'll offer some perks or something, like premium battlepass maybe?
  • Maybe the Call of Duty games can be properly discounted now.

Like a digital copy of Ghosts is still $20 with its deepest discount. Heck World at War is still $20.
  • @1 - It likely won't happen that soon so you'll unfortunately still have to buy MW II if you want to play it. Underhanded tactics by Activision by only releasing a cross-gen version of it for $70; no $60 version.

@2 - I believe the OW2 campaign is paid, only MP is F2P.
  • Shit, I might get back into playing CoD campaigns and little multiplayer if they dump all the titles on GamePass.
  • Great news. As much as I enjoy playing through the campaigns for fun, the games never seem to go on a decent sale.
  • @4, you're 100% right, I completely forgot about the campaign. The way the game was revealed too early, confusing about the campaign & MP, delays, going F2P, then separating SP & MP, it's no wonder I forgot.
