Ubisoft has officially unveiled Assassin's Creed Mirage, the next entry in the AC series, taking things back to its roots, as the franchise celebrates fifteen years. As per the countless rumours, Mirage will star AC Valhalla's Basim as protagonist, in a story that begins in Baghdad.

Charting a young Basim's journey from street orphan and thief to a member of The Hidden Ones, Mirage will take you through Baghdad at its zenith, circa 9th century CE. Taking in a “bustling urban landscape”, you'll traverse the streets as an assassin, having learned the rituals and tenets of The Hidden Ones.

Basim will have a few new tricks, including traps he can set for pursuing foes, and as you progress, you'll hone his abilities, and grow your understanding of the Creed, as his fate follows a path “he never could have imagined.”

Assassin's Creed Mirage is coming in 2023. You can watch the debut trailer and breakdown from developer Ubisoft Bordeaux below.

  • Well even though it was a CGI trailer, it still looks pretty damn cool.

Always loved this franchise, and the lore behind it. Can’t wait to play AC: Mirage
  • Is this a main title or a side one like Rouge?
  • @2 - Side, it’s not a main line title. Originally supposed to be DLC for Valhalla.
  • I wonder if this will finally be the one that ties it to first game with Altair? Setting and time period look similar but I am sure some die hard fan will correct me real quick.
  • Can't believe it's been 15 years for the AC series.
