Koei Tecmo is finally bringing Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse to the west, with the horror game launching on Xbox consoles next year.
Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse is the fourth game in the Fatal Frame franchise, and originally launched in Japan for the Nintendo Wii in 2008. However, a planned European release fell through, meaning the game never made its way to the west.
However, this newly remastered version of the game is finally bringing the cult horror title to the US and Europe, adding in an all new Photo Mode, plus enhanced visuals and altered costumes.
The story takes place a decade after five girls went missing at a festival on a small island in southern Japan. The girls were eventually found, but with no memory of the events that took place. Ten years later, the three surviving girls return to the island to solve the mystery of the other two's death.
In classic Fatal Frame style, players will explore spooky locales, and fight off vengeful spirits using the Camera Obscura, taking photographs of the ghosts in order to seal away their power.
You can check out the announcement trailer down below. Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse is coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC in early 2023.
