Deathloop Could be Launching For Xbox Series X|S Soon, as Pre-Order Ads Start Popping Up on Console Dashboard

Having released for PS5 in September of last year, Deathloop could be launching for Xbox soon, as the game's one-year PlayStation exclusivity period has come to an end, and pre-order advertisements have started appearing on the Xbox dashboard.

However, according to VGC, the Deathloop pre-order ad currently takes you to a deadend, as it appears to have gone live slightly too early. Today actually marks the expiry of the game's year-long console exclusivity for PS5, though, so it would make sense for Deathloop to at least be announced for Xbox imminently.

Timed exclusivity for Deathloop was announced in 2020, a year after the game's original announcement, preceding Microsoft's acquisition of ZeniMax Media, parent company of publisher Bethesda Softworks. Microsoft honoured Deathloop and Ghostwire: Tokyo's PS5 console exclusive deal, but both games will be coming to Xbox Series X|S, and the Xbox Game Pass library, at some point.

We'll be keeping our eyes peeled for an official Deathloop Xbox announcement, hopefully due to drop very soon.

  • I played about 3 hours of Deathloop on PC, as I didn't have a PS5 yet, and it was decent. Didn't seem good enough to purchase again just so I can play it on Xbox, my "main" console. Hopefully it will be on Game Pass shortly.
  • It released last year on the 14th so it makes sense since the 1 year time exclusivity is done
  • Awesome game if you can really get into it. Took me taking a break and coming back to really enjoy it though
  • Was hoping it would release on GamePass here. Probably not going to buy it if it's full-priced.
