EA and Maxis have announced that from next month, The Sims 4 will be going free-to-play across all platforms, with the developer to continue releasing packs, Kits, and Sims Delivery Express drops “into the foreseeable future”.

Anyone who has purchased or purchases The Sims 4 base game by 17th October (the day before the game goes free-to-play), will receive the Desert Luxe Kit as a gift, adding “luxurious” indoor and outdoor furniture inspired by the Southwestern desert landscape, and natural materials including stone and wood.

You'll able to find out more about The Sims 4 going free-to-play during a 'special-edition' stream called ‘Behind The Sims Summit’ (on YouTube and Twitch), when the base game goes free-to-play for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC on 18th October.
