Inspired by Sardinian folklore and classic Italian giallo horror movies, Saturnalia is a “kaleidoscopic” survival horror, revolving around a strange centuries-old annual ritual that takes place every winter solstice in the Italian village of Gravoi.

Playing as four different characters, you'll use each of their unique abilities to confront personal revelations, as they seek to uncover the dark secrets of the labyrinthine village, and escape certain doom. Searching for clues without markers of a compass for help, you'll have matches to light your way, while stealth or flight from danger are your only means of survival.

Saturnalia will see you relentlessly hunted by a malevolent creature, in a non-linear adventure with a “dynamic, adaptive narrative” with unique endings. The game also features stop-motion animation and an eerie expressionist art style, which you can check out in the trailer below.

Saturnalia will be coming to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on 27th October.

  • Probably another clunky mess like any other game made in my country.
  • I question the use of the hand-drawn sketch style. If this is supposed to be a horror title, that style doesn’t really exude fear or immerse me.
  • After viewing the video, no, it doesn't really, does it?
