EA has officially announced that its Montreal-based Motive Studio is developing a new third-person Iron Man action adventure, headed up by Olivier Proulx, whose previous credits include work on Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. A single-player affair, EA's new Iron Man title is being made in collaboration with Marvel Games, with an all-new original narrative.
Promising to “tap into” the rich history of Iron Man, and genius inventor alter-ego Tony Stark, Motive's take on ol' shellhead promises to make you feel what it's like to “truly play as Iron Man”, in an experience that aims to do justice to one of Marvel's most iconic characters. Proulx will be joined by a wealth of experienced industry veterans, including Ian Frazier, Maëlenn Lumineau, and JF Poirier.
“It’s an honour and privilege to have the opportunity to make a video game based on one of the most iconic Super Heroes in entertainment today,” said Proulx, who serves as Executive Producer on EA's upcoming Iron Man game. “We have a great opportunity to create a new and unique story that we can call our own. Marvel is encouraging us to create something fresh. We have a lot of freedom, which is so engaging for the team."
Motive Studio previously released Star Wars: Squadrons in 2020, and is also working on the Dead Space remake, which is due to launch for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC on 27th January 2023. A release window for its Marvel's Iron Man project (currently in pre-production) has yet to be confirmed.
