Square Enix has today released a free demo for Star Ocean: The Divine Force, the next entry in the storied RPG series, due to launch in October. The demo serves up the opening section of the game, enabling you to get acquainted with the new chapter, which melds sci-fi and fantasy elements.

As Raymond, captain of space trading ship, Ydas, and one of the game's dual protagonists, you'll be able to engage in some of The Divine Force's fast-paced combat and exploration during the demo. In the full game, You'll can choose to play as both Raymond and Laeticia, princess-knight of the kingdom of underdeveloped planet, Aster IV.

The free demo of Star Ocean: The Divine Force is available now for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4, ahead of the full game's launch on 27th October. Pre-orders include exclusive weapons, while an early purchase will include mini-game Pawns based on characters from Valkyrie Profile and Radiata Stories.

  • Definitely gonna check this out, though according to John from Digital Foundry, the demo has very unstable fps, which he sounds like a buffering issue from using double instead of triple. However if you have a VRR display, there is no problems.
