Microsoft has unveiled another addition to its range of special edition Xbox Wireless Controller, following the recent reveal for its fourth camo controller, the Mineral Camo Special Edition. This one is a nifty silvery-gold number, the Xbox Wireless Controller Lunar Shift Special Edition, the second in the Shift range, alongside the Aqua Shift Special Edition.

Said to be inspired by “fantastical gaming worlds”, the Lunar Shift Special apparently aims to emulate the “awe-inspiring aura of the moon”, shifting from silver to gold, depending on where the light hits it. As ever, the controller comes with the usual odds and sods, including rubberised swirly grey and black grips, a textured grip on the triggers, bumpers and back case, and 3.5mm stereo headset jack.

A matching Lunar Shift Razer Universal Quick Charging Stand for Xbox is also available to purchase today for $49.99, alongside the new Xbox Wireless Controller Lunar Shift Special Edition for $69.99/£59.99. You can take a look at pics of the controller and Razer charging stand below.

  • Nice.
  • one small step for xbox controllers...
  • Meh. Give me a series 3 elite controller that does no break like the series 2 does.
  • Microsoft should release a controller which "A" button last longer than it usually does. Most games demand pressing that button not hundreds but thousands of times, and it wears off rather quickly. Yeah, I know you can change the button configuration in the xbox settings, but it is not very confortable to relearn how to use a different button to do what is supposed to be done with the defaults.
