I for one will not purchase Rock Band: Power Chord Edition. I can't believe these guys are getting an exclusive game. As much as I hate the music... I appreciate what they do. I just can't help but think Green Day themselves are funding this for a little more publicity to entice those easily influenced preteens. What the F.... rock band muse? no way! the next one will be The Who and it's confirmed (and I think it's a good choice) but a Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd one would be just as great as The Beatles. I know those rights are hard to get but one can dream. BTW I think Green Day are maybe one of the greatest bands of the modern days... Since they are deciding to go the bubble gum punk route they really should have gone with Blink-182. The Drumming would be much harder, the songs would be a lot more enjoyable to sing doing Mark and Tom vocal plus they could release some new Blink stuff on there to get sells. Regardless of your taste in music or your preference for Muse, Blink-182, or some ridiculous hardcore band to be in Rock Band, do you know of any band that has had as many huge and instantly recognizable hits in the last 20 years than Green Day? No, and that is the reason they are making this game. Even though there are some bands that might have more challenging songs to play through like Avenged Sevenfold or Pantera, they simply aren't as marketable as Green Day. In my opinion, Green Day is an extremely creative band and they are constantly trying to top themselves, not selling out. They've been making music for over 20 years, they can't keep making the same music they did on 1,039 Smoothed Out Slappy Hours. I agree with the argument against any single band for a Rock band game but for Muse they have 5 available albums plus over 30 B sides if anyone has seen them live they know they are one the Top Live acts playing so any of there live performances from HAARP would fit perfectly and musically they are a hell of a lot more talented then GD. Did you know that there will be 47 tracks on Green Day: Rock Band? Well now you do. While there's still no confirmed full track list, there definitely will be full albums "Dookie" and "American Idiot" to play through, "capturing two landmark moments in Green Day's career" according to play.com who dropped the featured album list.
Naturally, the band's likenesses feature and there'll be unlockable gubbins, venues, art and other material from the band's history, but you probably already knew that.
There's already Green Day's latest album "21st Century Breakdown" available on the Rock Band Store for download, which will be compatible with Green Day: Rock Band, giving you potentially three complete albums and a list of greatest hits to sing, strum and drum through when the game releases this June.
