So I'll be reviewing this then? I can see it coming you swine, ha ha!Thursday, May 20, 2010 @ 09:35 AM
"Why did we cover it then? Because sometimes it's fun to make light of terrible promotional work. After all, it's the only way they'll learn." Ouch.Thursday, May 20, 2010 @ 09:36 AM
Wonder if they'll quote this in their promotional material?Thursday, May 20, 2010 @ 09:42 AM
doesn't look that bad give it a chance!Thursday, May 20, 2010 @ 09:42 AM
nice.Thursday, May 20, 2010 @ 09:48 AM
It's annoying that: We want a good cricket game. They make bad cricket games. We don't buy said games. Therefore they stop making cricket games. We don't get good cricket game. For god's sake make a good cricket game!!!! EA Sports need to bring back theirs, because it wasnt that bad and they make games for all the other sports, even MMAThursday, May 20, 2010 @ 09:49 AM
Big cricket fan. Just can't wait till sum1 ever releases a good cricket gamee. Same boring and rubbish formula used for years. Maybe il get a good one in 10 yearsThursday, May 20, 2010 @ 09:53 AM
I don't know a damn thing about this sport, except that it looks like a weaker version of baseball. Also, this game looks like a fucking piece of shit.Thursday, May 20, 2010 @ 09:59 AM
Lol Dan, if only they followed the Call of Duty trailer criteria yeah? ~BryceThursday, May 20, 2010 @ 10:00 AM
jeez it doesnt look that bad, its about as exciting as id expect a cricket game trailer to be, to be honest. They dont exactly have the luxury of being able to rappel down a building and smash through a window just to make a cool trailerThursday, May 20, 2010 @ 10:01 AM
Wow, looks like something out of the Xbox 1 era.Thursday, May 20, 2010 @ 10:12 AM
that was a trailer?Thursday, May 20, 2010 @ 10:14 AM
haha i love it when it like speeds up the bowler and you're going to expect an amazing wicket being smashed out of the ground but it ends up with a safety shot! what a shocking vid for no doubt a shocking game. who buys this crap please?!?!?!Thursday, May 20, 2010 @ 10:16 AM
in trailer quote - "the most authentic and exciting cricket game yet" Hmmmm....i wonder what the only 2 people in the world who like cricket will think of the game?Thursday, May 20, 2010 @ 10:18 AM
That looks a hell of a lot better than the previous ones but still not great.Thursday, May 20, 2010 @ 10:21 AM
@14 Thats a bit harsh seeing as cricket is actually a big sport round the world, bigger than a lot of other sports anyway. Just because people don't like a sport theres no need to shit all over it is there. Cricket is the biggest sport in the sub-continent, places like India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Not to mention the UK, South Africa, Australia, the West Indies and New Zealand, but yeah you're right, only 2 people play it.Thursday, May 20, 2010 @ 10:24 AM
The old Brian Lara cricket games look better than this unfortunately. I love cricket and have enjoyed a few of the games but recently it's all gone downhill and that trailer was bloody patheticThursday, May 20, 2010 @ 10:43 AM
I don't think it was that bad, yes, the animations did look robotic and repetitive, and it is (basically) Ashes with pretty camera angles, but it's a start. How long did it take for EA to get FIFA sorted - 6 years maybe with probably 10 attempts and possibly 1 half-decent game? And just because you don't like Cricket doesn't mean that all cricket games are bad - I don't like Halo and know plenty of others who share my opinion, but does that mean it's a bad game?Thursday, May 20, 2010 @ 11:04 AM
Decent cricket game ? "You can't polish a turd"Thursday, May 20, 2010 @ 11:07 AM
@18 The 1st Fifa on Megadrive was immense so get ur facts straight.Thursday, May 20, 2010 @ 11:13 AM
@#19 no, you can't polish a turd. but you sure can smooth it out. . .if you want to take on that challenge, of course. not sure why cricket never made it big in the states. looks like an interesting sport. at least worth checking out a few times.Thursday, May 20, 2010 @ 11:16 AM
... dont know what to say.Thursday, May 20, 2010 @ 11:28 AM
I've become a fan of the 20/20 Series, but mainly because it's so quick. I'd hate to watch a Test Match Live, 5 days with the potential of a draw? No thanks! But Cricket games, that's different, or at least it would be if they could create something along the lines of Brian Lara back in previous-Gens. This current Generation doesn't know HOW to create a cricket game. For such a popular sport, it gets naff all in terms of decent games. Pity really, i'd love a quality Cricket game for my console . . . !Thursday, May 20, 2010 @ 11:30 AM
Oh sure, talk up a game that I can't even play here in Canada. I'm on to you, Webb. Next you'll be offering to sell me your "like new" PAL console that has only red ringed twice and has only a modest mark up for shipping so that I can play it. Ok, I'll get my checkbook...Thursday, May 20, 2010 @ 11:47 AM
Well it is cricket, its hard to make such a dull sport look interesting!Thursday, May 20, 2010 @ 11:49 AM
Sweet. I didnt know they still made PS2 games.Thursday, May 20, 2010 @ 12:04 PM
That game literally looks identical to ashes cricket but with worse graphics and probably harder achievements.Thursday, May 20, 2010 @ 01:01 PM
Wow guys, it doesn't look THAT bad. It's cricket - people who like the sport don't have any other options, so it's going to find an audience. It must make the money, because this is the third cricket game for the system. If it plays as well Ashes cricket did, then the graphics aren't the be all and end all.Thursday, May 20, 2010 @ 01:38 PM
i thoink it looks better than ashes, and that was decent, if horriby easyThursday, May 20, 2010 @ 01:57 PM
that music is fooling no-one, this game is shite!Thursday, May 20, 2010 @ 02:04 PM
I can't believe they made this into a game haha. Looks interesting though.Thursday, May 20, 2010 @ 02:20 PM
Looks kinda cool honestly. I didn't expect much though and I am sure I won't play it.Thursday, May 20, 2010 @ 02:21 PM
i dont know how anyone can play cricket, on screen or off, let alone watch it. its so immensly boringThursday, May 20, 2010 @ 02:38 PM
Well Cricket is the most popular sport in Australia. The game might sell well there.Thursday, May 20, 2010 @ 02:41 PM
Bring back the Brian Lara cricket games via XBLA!Thursday, May 20, 2010 @ 02:51 PM
To a person who knows nothing about cricket and doesn't know anyone who plays it, the fact that a video game about this sport even exists is, upon initial consideration, kind of funny. However, I'm also a huge ice hockey fan. EA's NHL franchise must do decent business to get a new installment each year, and they clearly put some work into it because it wins lots of awards. Now, I'm sure that there are much more cricket fans on this planet than there are ice hockey fans, so it only seems fair that someone should make an award-winning cricket game for these people. Am I right?Thursday, May 20, 2010 @ 03:13 PM
to the people who say noone is interested in cricket, it has as big a global following than football-if a little concentrated around the subcontinentThursday, May 20, 2010 @ 03:13 PM
who in ther right mind will play this shit the worlds most borind sport 2 play and watch (is it evan a sport)Thursday, May 20, 2010 @ 03:29 PM
We need a new Rugby game more so than a Cricket game...I really liked EA's attempt at one in the states...and most of the countries that are big into Cricket are into Rugby, plus you get a bunch of European nations that are also big Rugby players. I agree with the sentiment though, even not knowing much about the sport of cricket, this game looks like a ancient sports title from yesteryear, I feel bad for Cricket fans that have to put up with getting crappy versions of their sport in the digital land.Thursday, May 20, 2010 @ 03:51 PM
I almost preordered this today until I saw this post. Thanks for saving me some money.Thursday, May 20, 2010 @ 04:08 PM
Cricket is stupid anyway.Thursday, May 20, 2010 @ 05:05 PM
Improved animation and models? everything looks exactly the same as last years Ashes game apart from the new 'action' cam.Thursday, May 20, 2010 @ 05:35 PM
I don't understand cricket. Makes no sense to me. Is it like baseball?Thursday, May 20, 2010 @ 05:42 PM
#43 its like chess, but on grass.Thursday, May 20, 2010 @ 07:45 PM
@ #16 To be fair, every time there's a post about American football, the forum is flooded with Europeans trashing the sport for its name, saying it's stupid compared to soccer, or whatever. I'm not saying either is right, but the idiocy does occur from both sides of the Atlantic. Anyway, that game looks uglier than a bulldog eating mayonnaise.Thursday, May 20, 2010 @ 08:25 PM
Ricky Ponting looks as stiff as he is in real life! I would say that's an accurate rendition :pThursday, May 20, 2010 @ 09:13 PM
@14 get some culture broThursday, May 20, 2010 @ 10:51 PM
Actually I think the biggest sport in Oz is probably Aussie Rules or Hockey. Then Cricket.Friday, May 21, 2010 @ 12:02 AM
Baseball FTW!Friday, May 21, 2010 @ 12:47 AM
@ #45 I believe you mean "Hand Egg" ;) Totally kidding, I see your point. Also, this game looks awesome........if it were for regular Xbox. I wish there was a good cricket game. It sucks that they only half ass it and then give up.Friday, May 21, 2010 @ 01:09 AM
And that's a PASSFriday, May 21, 2010 @ 07:55 AM
As if Cricket wasn't boring enough, they go and make this snoozefest using a budget of maybe £10 - £15 by the looks of it.Friday, May 21, 2010 @ 08:17 AM
Who the fuck buys these games? My god, I'm not even trashing cricket itself- dont have to, as long as the game looks like this. What a load of garbage. Give us a game that actually is good instead.Monday, May 24, 2010 @ 02:32 PM
Haha this game looks terribleSunday, June 27, 2010 @ 02:08 AM
haha wow. not a fan of cricket but still. this looks bad. and im from the US so i dont really understand the game. but i really cant help but reading all of these comments in a british accent >__Friday, August 06, 2010 @ 05:07 PM

Those who frequent this part of the internet regularly will know that I'm quite a frank person. I don't tend to hold back. Some people call it a trait, others a downfall. Whatever you say, the latest International Cricket 2010 trailer is bloody awful - another box quote if you ask me.
Whilst it's clear that the aim of the trailer is to talk about the new features of the game, it actually does more to belittle it as it shows off sloppy animations - every bowler has the same action, terrible likenesses... heck, they couldn't even send us a trailer with a decent resolution.
Why did we cover it then? Because sometimes it's fun to make light of terrible promotional work. After all, it's the only way they'll learn.
International Cricket 2010 is out in June and even the hardened cricket fans might want to give it a miss if this latest trailer is anything to go by!
