Sucks for ppl that bought. I beat it on PC and while extremely pretty wasn't as good as other FPS titles...Wednesday, August 25, 2010 @ 12:13 PM
Bought the DLC, great game.Wednesday, August 25, 2010 @ 12:15 PM

Bought the DLC on release as I was renting the game but got bored of waiting for a fix so sent it back. Guess I'll have to re-rent it or find a cheap copy when it's sorted.Wednesday, August 25, 2010 @ 12:26 PM
*Your £40/$60 + 240mswp or whatever it was for dlc.Wednesday, August 25, 2010 @ 12:41 PM
I think just getting my 1000/1000 is enough and will not be playing this garbage again.Wednesday, August 25, 2010 @ 12:42 PM
@6 Can you really not afford 240MS, it hardly seems a lot. Glad I held off this, was going to get it tomorrow in fact. Nice to see them owning up to it, and actually planning on fixing it. Yes im looking at you Valve...Crash Course damn you!Wednesday, August 25, 2010 @ 12:46 PM
@8 me too, I've been waiting for it to drop to $20 or so before I get it. So by the time they fix it, it might be $20. Hope so!Wednesday, August 25, 2010 @ 12:46 PM
atleast 1 dev is fixing its dlc issue... yes were lookin at you 2kWednesday, August 25, 2010 @ 01:02 PM
Whew...just ordered and in the post, thank god it's not the regular game. In the spirit of blacklisting developers...Terminal Reality for Ghostbusters...we're getting a patch in the fall, but it's a patch PS3 will have had for almost a year and it doesn't work.Wednesday, August 25, 2010 @ 01:05 PM
"We understand some people are still experiencing issues with achievements unlocking in the Metro 2033 Ranger Pack DLC." Surely they mean "everyone" and not "some". The only people who have 'unlocked' these achievements are hackers.Wednesday, August 25, 2010 @ 01:14 PM
@8, whats the glitch in crash course? i never had any trouble with it. also i did enjoy metro hope its fixed soon!Wednesday, August 25, 2010 @ 01:16 PM
Still, THQ looking at fixing this is MUCH BETTER than how EA has handled its glitched the Army of Two 40th Day DLC (which includes EA pointing fingers at everyone and stubbornly refusing to even try to fix it) For those who don't know, with the 40th Day DLC - you cannot unlock one DLC achievement for each multiplayer achievement you have unlocked in the original game. (So 4 MP achievements = you lose 4 DLC achievements)Wednesday, August 25, 2010 @ 01:16 PM
I downloaded the DLC but have yet to load up the game and download the update. Looks like I will be holding off until this is resolved.Wednesday, August 25, 2010 @ 01:17 PM
"Solving Metro 2033 Achievements Issue Requires "Your Patience" No it doesn't, it requires you to make sure it works before you actually put it out there. It's not as if they were under pressure or in a rush to get this DLC out, and yes, everyone has the problem. less than 5 minutes of research would have told them that the only people who have unlocked them are hackers. Mark my words, this will probably drag on as much as Army of Two:TFD has.Wednesday, August 25, 2010 @ 01:21 PM
@7, why did you bother getting the 1000 if it's garbage? @13, a couple of the achievements require you to be offline to get. Slippery Pull being the most notable as the others are doable in split-screen so you can still be logged into live.Wednesday, August 25, 2010 @ 01:23 PM
@12, Shouldn't they be hiring the hackers then?? lolWednesday, August 25, 2010 @ 01:53 PM
it's just a dlc. i know the internet is made for people to fuss about....stuff....but dang. you don't have anything else to play while you wait? it's not like you lost $3, you just need to wait a bit for them to fix it. yes, it sucks, but getting upset won't help any. just find something else to do :)Wednesday, August 25, 2010 @ 02:27 PM
@ #19 That's if they ever fix it. I think people should be entitled to a refund in cases like this. I know it's a small amount, but you expect things to work when you buy them. Anyway, I thought all patches and DLC went through several rigorous checks by the company who made the game, and by Microsoft?. Clearly something went amiss here. They should at least pull the DLC until the issue is resolved, lest anyone else gets bitten by this.Wednesday, August 25, 2010 @ 03:09 PM
Hey THQ, when's the patch for the glitched achievement in Cars: Race-O-Rama coming out?Wednesday, August 25, 2010 @ 03:36 PM
THQ is garbage. They still haven't fixed UFC 2009 Undisputed achievement glitch.Wednesday, August 25, 2010 @ 03:37 PM
#14, That's exactly what THQ did with UFC.Wednesday, August 25, 2010 @ 04:28 PM
Thank Microsoft and THQ for everything they are doing.....at least they acknowledged it and are trying to work out the kinks. It would be smart for them to fix this because Homefront is coming out soon and hopefully it wont happen with that gameWednesday, August 25, 2010 @ 04:37 PM
In Soviet russia game beats you!Wednesday, August 25, 2010 @ 07:03 PM
I picked up Borderlands while waiting. Almost done with that now. Then onto 100% Fallout 3 on the PC... any chance it'll be resolved, or should I keep the list of buffer games growing?Wednesday, August 25, 2010 @ 09:11 PM
does this patch effect the games regular achievements?Thursday, August 26, 2010 @ 12:02 AM
Claiming only "some people" have this issue makes it a lower priority in their internal support desks. It's all about updating and tracking the issue so the same error can be avoided for their next product. That's how support desks work in big companys these days. @all the guys who say "it's just 240 MS points". I bought a product and didn't get 100% of it's content and that includes the achivements. There should be a contractual agreement between MS and the developers that guarantees glitch free achievements, or at least a technical support. In the end they use the achievement bait as part of their marketing strategy.Thursday, August 26, 2010 @ 01:13 AM
Good thing its free on PC, wish it was GFWL instead of steam achievements though.Thursday, August 26, 2010 @ 01:23 AM
@17, maybe because he started it, then he regretted it because it sucked but still felt a need to 1000 it? Trololo.Thursday, August 26, 2010 @ 01:30 AM
@28, let me bring up Turning Point: Fail of Liberty. The online's fucking dead (let me not start on the horribly shit campaign) so I email the devs and they say "we understand the game may not have many players due to it's age". WHAT THE FUCK. They stole my money, the bastards. They with-held 260G from me and they didn't even offer to help me. I hate it when you have absolute fucking idiots design achievements. How can I participate in an 8 player match in A DEAD GAME?!?! I'll burn their damn studio down.Thursday, August 26, 2010 @ 01:51 AM
@18 that is superb!! LOLThursday, August 26, 2010 @ 05:40 AM
@31 I'm with you all the way!! Let it burn!! LolThursday, August 26, 2010 @ 06:17 AM
@31 EA are worse. They have the bare faced cheek to put LotR Conquest in the games on demand section AFTER they had shut down the multiplayer servers... isn't that a predominantly MP game?!?!?!Saturday, August 28, 2010 @ 05:12 PM
oh my god three weeks and nothing i cant wait till they fix this messSunday, August 29, 2010 @ 07:25 AM
bullshitWednesday, September 08, 2010 @ 10:49 PM
Well, apparently it is now fixed and some have unlocked all the cheevo's. O.K. here is the stupid questions of the day: How do you use the alternative fire on the volt driver? I can not figure it out. Also, I'm doing my second play through on "Ranger Easy" mode, the HUD does not show, I thought this only occurs when playing through "Ranger Hardcore". Anyone else experiencing this? Finally, can the DLC cheevos be unlocked without playing ranger mode, I am inquiring about the weapons achievements, not including of course the "Survivor and "Last Man Standing" DLC achievements?Thursday, October 14, 2010 @ 06:48 PM
So, it's now into October. Anyone know if it's fixed yet? Cheevo's still not showing up on the Guide Menu.Saturday, October 16, 2010 @ 09:35 AM
Can't say I know. I shall not be buying this. This will be the only special edition game that I'm trading away. In fact, I'm going to go out of my way to loan it to people for as long as they want to play it for, just so they wont buy it. I'm well and truly pissed off that they'd release the special automatic gun on the marketplace after I went and bought the special edition that had it. THQ, you've gone and made me cry. With raised middle fingers, I'll say goodbye.Tuesday, January 04, 2011 @ 10:33 AM
lol you're pissed because of that? ahah, get a life, plus its a great game with amazing ambience, albeit some gameplay issuesTuesday, January 04, 2011 @ 04:13 PM

With Metro 2033's 'Ranger Pack' DLC came an added patch to support it, which had an adverse effect on the game's achievements. That was three weeks ago, when the problem was first acknowledged and subsequently noted as an issue by Microsoft.
In those three weeks, THQ has told Joystiq that it is still "investigating" the issue, but it seems that the publisher isn't much closer to reaching a resolution just yet. So, what can we do? Just sit tight for now, apparently according to a statement issued by THQ:
"We understand some people are still experiencing issues with achievements unlocking in the Metro 2033 Ranger Pack DLC. We are currently working with Microsoft to ascertain whether this is due to a code related issue with the DLC itself, or an error in the Marketplace process whereby the DLC was added to Xbox LIVE Marketplace before the new achievement data was added - this exact issue has happened to other games in the past, but we need to be sure that this is what's happening here. We realise this is frustrating for those of you who have been waiting to enjoy the Ranger Pack DLC, and we ask for your patience as we try to pinpoint the exact issue and solution."
We'd recommend holding off on downloading the DLC for now then, unless you already have, in which case it's too late. Metro 2033 minus the DLC still works fine however, as the issue is confined to the Ranger Pack itself. Here's hoping THQ find a solution soon.
