Love splinter cell!!!Friday, November 26, 2010 @ 02:32 PM
I was pretty disappointed with Conviction. Hopefully the Toronto studio can change that for 6.Friday, November 26, 2010 @ 02:32 PM
awesome loeved convictionFriday, November 26, 2010 @ 02:34 PM
Conviction was amazing. I still need to get 3 dlc achievements. Great game.Friday, November 26, 2010 @ 02:40 PM
Hmmmm, Jade Raymond. Not only is she incredibly smart and talented at producing good games but she's just so damn cute! Not a fan of the SC series but with Jade at the helm I might give them another go when this one comes out.Friday, November 26, 2010 @ 02:43 PM
give us a new rainbow six! if any of the clancy games need a sequel, it's r6.Friday, November 26, 2010 @ 02:48 PM
Spies vs Mercs plox!!!Friday, November 26, 2010 @ 02:58 PM
whatever happened to the future soldier beta? :SFriday, November 26, 2010 @ 03:02 PM
I LOVE SPLINTER CELL!!!!!Friday, November 26, 2010 @ 03:03 PM
Conviction was great. Hope 6 goes back to being more stealth like tho.Friday, November 26, 2010 @ 03:08 PM
Convictions was tragic, hopefully Jade can bring it back to it's glorious stealthy-ness. Instead of this over the top brutal-ness that we had with convictions.Friday, November 26, 2010 @ 03:16 PM
Splinter Cell is a great series! love the games! ive only played 3 of em though.. conviction wasn't bad or good. i liked it. but i still think my fav was the first one.. just cuz i had a blast playing it and it was new shit to me.Friday, November 26, 2010 @ 03:30 PM
The problem isn't the quality Splinter Cell turned into. It's the type of gameplay it turned into. Rather than going in silent, you can now choose to "Run in guns blazin.'" Games these days are too casual.Friday, November 26, 2010 @ 03:38 PM
EndWar 2 anyone :'( IFriday, November 26, 2010 @ 03:51 PM
I finally ordered Conviction today, after being hooked in the demo. Used to hate stealthy games but now that you don't have to be bored to death in the shadows, it's a lot of fun. Kudos Ubisoft! Just don't milk it. Not that they're going to, but still.Friday, November 26, 2010 @ 04:04 PM
Splinter cell was the first game I played on Xbox and it is till my favorite. I wish they would make another Rainbow six the online side of it was brilliant.Friday, November 26, 2010 @ 04:04 PM
hope they go all stealthy again like 1 2 and 3Friday, November 26, 2010 @ 04:24 PM
@18, do they speak English in wales? I can imagine roads and roads of book stores and not a single dictionary. Also, when I spell a word wrong it underlines it in red. You might want to look in to that.Friday, November 26, 2010 @ 04:36 PM
Conviction and brotherhood are the best games ive played this year, i really hope this new splinter cell follows on in the same vein as conviction but also with the brotherhood team working on the multiplayer :)Friday, November 26, 2010 @ 05:00 PM
Wasn't all the bothered about the splinter cell series, that is till I played conviction!!! Lol ubisoft out by far the leaders of 3rd person gameplay... Aside from GTA & Mass Effect series!!! Lol :-)Friday, November 26, 2010 @ 05:11 PM
@19 Ironically and deservedly, it seems you have suffered from your own logic, as there's a capital 'W' in 'Wales' Anyway, glad #6 has been given the green light, Conviction was great and it'd be cool to see where Sam goes next.Friday, November 26, 2010 @ 05:20 PM
I think that if they made a new R6, it would be up there with CoD....if they did it right though. Anyway.... OT: Was I the only one who thought Conviction was a reboot? (I can be mistaken) Where the hell is this 6th one coming from?Friday, November 26, 2010 @ 06:00 PM
I didn't really like Conviction at all though all previous ones were great.Friday, November 26, 2010 @ 06:12 PM
spinter cell HD please.Friday, November 26, 2010 @ 06:22 PM
@10,11..I really hope they dont go back to the all stealthy gameplay.I really love the new direction they went with SC:C.Just make the game a little bit longer, expand the multiplayer and you've got a day 1 customer in me.Friday, November 26, 2010 @ 06:22 PM
well all i say is bring back spys vs mercs if you want bigger sales,i hated conviction.Friday, November 26, 2010 @ 08:38 PM
This is fantastic news! I just hope they change up the mechanics and don't use the "same-game-different-skin" deal that a lot of gaming companies are doing these days. I loved Conviction, but for the next one I want something different.Friday, November 26, 2010 @ 09:22 PM
@2 your dumb, conviction was the best, and i hate spy games :pFriday, November 26, 2010 @ 10:09 PM
@29 Conviction turned way too much into something like Rainbow Six or Ghost Recon. I would prefer if they added more elements to keep it like the old Splinter Cell games. Let's put it this way, the first level = awesome. Felt like the old SC games but still had fast paced action. After that it went down hill. And by the end it was like I was playing Rainbow Six, but without a squad to command. If the next game is like the first level of Conviction, I will be happy and stay with the series, otherwise I am done. Now to go find a copy of Double Agent or Chaos Theory on the original Xbox. PS: Your dumb, for trying to force your opinion on me. I have my own thank you very much.Friday, November 26, 2010 @ 11:07 PM
Jade Raymond! Yes! And Oh another Splinter cell? Yes!YES!Friday, November 26, 2010 @ 11:10 PM
I LOVE SPLINTER CELL AND RAINBOW SIX!!! BRING THEM BACK MORE AND MORE INTO BIG SERIES!!Friday, November 26, 2010 @ 11:15 PM
Love every Splinter Cell game, Conviction was badass. Can't wait until 6 comes out, and goes for Rainbow Six? IMO I think there games that isn't very fun, and too rough, hate it.Friday, November 26, 2010 @ 11:30 PM
I love Splinter Cell but I'm not too interested in this right now. If Ubisoft's past track record is anything to go by then we won't be seeing this game until at least 2016.Saturday, November 27, 2010 @ 12:54 AM
Ahh Jade Raymond :)Saturday, November 27, 2010 @ 01:12 AM
woooowww !!! i really really love this game but i'd rather see them make a new add on for conviction for the time beeing ....Saturday, November 27, 2010 @ 06:05 AM
Good new.. SCC was the best best in the series. I would rather have a new Rainbow 6 thoughSaturday, November 27, 2010 @ 06:24 AM
Chaos Theory is the best imo. I didn't like the online in SC:C but the co-op was fun :)Saturday, November 27, 2010 @ 06:39 AM
@7 I FREAKING AGREE! they neeeeeeeeeeed spy vs merc if they put that in conviction it would have been the best splinter cell the story was freaking amazing :)Saturday, November 27, 2010 @ 08:53 AM
cool i like splinter cellSaturday, November 27, 2010 @ 12:03 PM
mighty want to leave splinter cell and complete current projects like i dont know........... ghost recon future soldier honestly how long we got to waitSaturday, November 27, 2010 @ 12:20 PM
This is good news! I was one of the few who adapted and ended up enjoying Conviction.Saturday, November 27, 2010 @ 03:01 PM
Jade Raymond is hotSaturday, November 27, 2010 @ 03:48 PM
The only problem with conviction was the lack of stealth in the last couple missions. Otherwise it was a great ganeSaturday, November 27, 2010 @ 04:32 PM
Hey UbiSoft, this time more shadows and less bullets.Saturday, November 27, 2010 @ 04:44 PM
conviction was very good but let's hope they put spies vs mercs back in the gameSaturday, November 27, 2010 @ 05:05 PM
Awesome!Conviction was a TAD rubbish but still good :)Saturday, November 27, 2010 @ 05:18 PM
Hey Ubi you silly Boobie I want me some more colourful Rainbow action.Sunday, November 28, 2010 @ 01:49 AM
Conviction was a TAD too action-oriented. A little more stealth would have been nice.Sunday, November 28, 2010 @ 02:32 AM
Well i really enjoyed conviction. AND i really enjoyed Double agent on the 360. The two felt like completely different games though. Sam fisher is a lethal weapon nowadays, but it does make the game feel too casual. With this game try and get a better balance. And get a better games engine ;)Sunday, November 28, 2010 @ 05:31 AM
Oh great Jade Raymond, another Assassins creed 1 coming up. Boring and repetativeSunday, November 28, 2010 @ 10:38 AM
YES another splinter cell! woohooSunday, November 28, 2010 @ 08:47 PM
If Jade Rayond was working on a sequal to Brave: A Warriors Tale...I'd buy itSunday, November 28, 2010 @ 08:52 PM
i think its hilarious that some of the purists think that if your not "hiding" the whole time, that the game is casual... i never liked splinter cell that much, I always preferred metal gear for some sneaking around, at least its fun in that franchise, but Conviction was just amazing... games have to evolveMonday, November 29, 2010 @ 05:06 AM
This game is worth renting.Monday, November 29, 2010 @ 12:10 PM
Well if they put single player from Conviction with multiplayer from Double agent, we would have a winner on our hands. Still can't get over mutliplayer disappointment in Conviction;-(Friday, December 10, 2010 @ 11:10 AM
My pants get tight in the crotch when I see a picture of Jade RaymondSunday, December 12, 2010 @ 10:39 AM
Splinter Cell Rulez Can't Wait For A New OneThursday, February 10, 2011 @ 06:19 AM
Hmm some1 mentioned the direction and I agree, I loved having to sit and wait for the moment to strike between patrols and staying stealthy throughout, it has lost it's magic for me to run and gun. Still love them thoughTuesday, October 04, 2011 @ 10:01 AM
Bring back Versus
Friday, November 26, 2010
Ubisoft Toronto Managing Director, Jade Raymond, who hit the big time as Producer on the original Assassin's Creed, has confirmed the inevitable... and that's that Ubisoft Toronto is working on Splinter Cell 6.
That's the one after Conviction if you lost count.
"We're working on Splinter Cell 6, the next iteration of the blockbuster franchise and we're doing it entirely here in Toronto," said Raymond in a promotional video talking about the new studio.
"We're working on two products," she continued, "There's actual game production going on already," which is pretty impressive considering how little time the studio has been up and running.
Ubisoft Toronto, according to Raymond, already has 83 people working there, from concept artists and animators to audio directors and people working on gameplay, and they are well on track to hit their target of 800 staff in the next 10 years.
If you check out the promotional video - which you can see on Eurogamer - you'll even catch a glimpse of Splinter Cell: Conviction's Creative Director, Maxime Béland, hard at work at his new home.
Beland incidentally also worked on Rainbow Six Vegas as well. Is it too much to ask that Beland and co. are hard at work on both of these established Ubisoft franchises? After all, the next Rainbow Six is long overdue.
