Namco Bandai has signed an agreement with Yoostar Entertainment to distribute Yoostar 2, which is a curious Kinect title that enables anyone to put themselves into a movie scene using the Kinect camera to superimpose their performance into a variety of films.
“This is the most innovative use of camera technology we’ve seen to date,” said Alberto González Lorca, VP of Third Parties for Namco Bandai Partners. “The moment you see yourself on screen in Yoostar 2 is the moment you fall in love with it. We’re convinced this will be the next social gaming sensation and we’re delighted to have secured the rights to distribute the game throughout Europe.”
To coincide with today's announcement, there's also a few new screenshots of Yoostar 2, showing sequences from the likes of The Terminator, in which you can re-enact the iconic "I'll be back" scene as either Arnold Schwarzenegger or the desk sergeant in the police station.
Check out the six Yoostar 2 screens in the gallery for some of the menus showing a small selection of the numerous movies the game will offer. Yoostar 2 is set to launch in Q1 2011 with advanced social media features to share videos with friends and an ad-lib feature that lets you riff with your own personal lines in memorable movie scenes. It all sounds slightly mental to us, so we can't wait to see how Yoostar 2 works. We're practising our best Don Draper impression for the Mad Men scenes right now.
