Never played it (not a big Sega fan), but I am interested in playing this. I love playing RPGs. Good news for me. I will get this if the price is actually desent. One of the few Sega titles I did like back then was Panzer Dragoon. Surprised they haven't brought back that game yet.Thursday, May 05, 2011 @ 09:03 PM
GO SEGA!!! Too many great classics....hope they keep em comin!!Thursday, May 05, 2011 @ 11:04 PM
Good. The only Saturn game that was worth having finally gets ported. The GBA version was alright, but it deserves better than that. This is great news.Thursday, May 05, 2011 @ 11:06 PM
Bah, there are dozens of Saturn games worth having. :Friday, May 06, 2011 @ 02:14 AM
Great news! Guardian Heroes was definitely in my top three on the Saturn along with Dragon Force and Panzer Saga... I remember playing it for hours on end, couldn't get enough of it... Can't wait!!!Friday, May 06, 2011 @ 02:25 AM
#13 - Sounds like you're thinking of Knights Of The Round? That was a lot like Golden Axe... Guardian Heroes has RPG elements and has a lot more depth. Having said that, I loved Knights Of The Round. :) Guardian Heroes was one of the very best games on the Saturn, and costs quite a bit if you want to pick it up now... let us hope that they avoid the mistakes of the average GBA Guardian Heroes game! This sounds like more of a true port, so fingers crossed.Friday, May 06, 2011 @ 10:58 AM
Nice they should release more Saturn games, Panzer Dragoon anyone?
Thursday, May 05, 2011
SEGA has today announced that Guardian Heroes, its Treasure-developed action-RPG brawler originally released on the Saturn back in 1996, is set to make a triumphant return with completely remastered HD visuals, online co-op and battle modes. SEGA is also promising some all-new modes for the game too, when it releases on the Xbox Live Arcade later this year.
“Ever since we began to make SEGA’s classic Dreamcast and the Mega Drive titles available for modern systems, the fan response has been overwhelming – and the demand for their favourite games has been pouring in,” said Haruki Satomi, VP of Digital Business at SEGA. “Players have been clamouring for this treasured favourite from the Saturn days, and we cannot wait to show them what we have got for them.”
Here's what to expect from Guardian Heroes, when it releases on XBLA in autumn 2011:
Further details like price and so on, have yet to be confirmed.
