Armored Core V Coming to Japan in October

Richard Walker

From Software has set an October release window for the arrival of giant mech stomper Armored Core V in Japan, with a closed beta set to precede the game's release, to ensure that its online battling is up to scratch.

In Armored Core V, players will battle for online territory and the war will even continue as long as your console is connected online. Famitsu magazine also details a variety of boosting options in the game, with a Glide Boost enabling you to boost in any direction, a Boost Charge gives you a devastating dash-kick as long as you attach the requisite parts to your mech, and the Hi-Boost is a rapid, short-distance dash.

You'll be able to jump and boost too, as well as adopting various stances, like the 'weapon shift' and 'purge' stances, which will enable you to refine your mech battling approach.

Armored Core V will be boosting its way into Japan in October 2011, while Namco Bandai will be publishing the game in North America and presumably Europe in early 2012.

  • Armored Core used to be one of my favorite series back on the PS1/PS2. AC4 was the first 360 game I played but I couldn't get into it at all. I hope this new title shares more in common with the older entries of the franchise.
  • Loved the the 4th AC this will have to appease my Giant robot hunger until the next war for cyberton game
  • nice to see that a video game makes the complete devastation of Japan just go away, who cares about the radiation clouds traveling around the world raining down on us Video games makes it all better!
  • wish they bring back mech warrior love the FPS mode when in the cockpit of the mechs add the realism to it lo sorry just wish AC would do the same.
  • @2 "Until the next War for Cybertron game"? I haven't heard anything about a sequel yet, am I just stupid? I hope the missions in Armored Core V last more then 3 minutes each.
  • What I want to know is how #2 has played Assassin's Creed: Revelations.
  • For Answer was nice but far from perfect, the missions where sometimes Impossible and not fun at all. Curious to the next installement!
  • An awful lot of jumping in these aibilities! I wonder if this is going to be any good...
  • @6: AC = Armored Core. derp the first AC was one of my favorite games back in the day, to the point that i made it a point to keep it when selling all my old playstation stuff. i hope this one brings back some of that fun
