Battlefield 3 Insert Points to Medal of Honor Sequel Reveal

A peek inside the Battlefield 3 Limited Edition - once you've flicked throught the manual and other gubbins - yields a card promoting what appears to be a sequel to Medal of Honor, with a new logo for the game sporting the Tier 1 motif and the letters 'MOH', as well as the address for the Medal of Honor website.

The flyer also has an ESRB rating pending or BBFC 18 TBC certificate on it in North America and Europe respectively, indicating that it could very well be a hint that the next Medal of Honor game is set to be officially announced soon, for a possible release sometime next year. With Battlefield 3 almost out, it could be that EA may be shifting its attention to its other military franchise.

Medal of Honor developer Danger Close pretty much confirmed that Medal of Honor 2 was in the works back in February, with Executive Producer Greg Goodrich declaring "Yes, Danger Close is currently working on the next Medal of Honor," which is pretty cut and dry. Now this logo is further proof that Medal of Honor 2 is probably due to be revealed soon. 'Nuff said.

  • Can't wait for Tuesday!
  • Meh, not really interesting. Medal Of Honor was just too bland for its own good. Talk about uninspired.
  • Too early to talk/think about MOH! Too many amazing games are coming out within the next few weeks. Don't want to get my hopes up for a good MOH game that will end up being another disappointment. Prove me wrong Danger Close...
  • lol They already announced it... EA said they were planning on alternating every year between battlefield and MOH releases. so MOH next year, then battlefield the next etc etc...
  • i wonder if there gonna put the same multiplayer in it and make it suck even more
  • Awesome. Personally I loved the single-player of the new MOH. Had my fun in MP too until it became a rape train of spawn sniping. Got my 1000GS and got the hell out of dodge.
  • Cant Believe I Have To Wait Till Friday. FAIL -___-
  • #3, I agree. The sp wasn't that bad
  • fuck this shit
  • FPSs are going to die fast... :'(
  • The last Medal of Honor sucked ass. Hopefully they learn from their mistakes.
  • Not sure why they're making another MoH. Its a Battlefield game just with a new name. I call it Medal of Company 3!
  • tbh i liked moh but the campaign was way to short, and the multiplayer felt like dice wanted it to be good but not as good as battlefield so didn't really try to make it as awsome as it could be i personally wanted ea to get respawn entertainment working on it but doubt that will ever happen
  • Hopefully NO MULTIPLAYER ACHIEVEMENTS this time. Deploy every offensive support action my ass.
  • Never played a MOH game...so...
  • WhO caReS!!! MOH sUckED TERribly wHo wOUlD bUY A SeqUIL To tHat ShiTty GamE!
  • @16 WhY aRe YoU tYpInG lIkE tHiS? dO yOu HaVe SoMe SoRt Of MeNtAl DiSaBiLiTy? OT: I just hope they fix the multiplayer this time. Too many snipers in the last game...
  • Cool logo, but it's too bad Medal of Honor sucked.
  • Hopefully this won't be another disappointment. I hope EA won't make these franchises annual, with a Battlefield coming out every other year and a MoH game coming out the year following a Battlefield game. The recent reboot of the franchise wasn't all that bad, it just felt like a toned down version of Bad Company 2.
  • EA keeps announcing everything but the one game I want to hear about. Where the hells my Mercenaries 3 w/ Frostbite 2.0 EA?!
  • @20 Pandemic made that and they are no longer around so I doubt they will ever make another one.
  • MoH had its moments. I actually really enjoyed the campaign. The MP however, well not so much.
  • I wonder who will be doing the MP in this, will it be DICE or will EA have someone else do it?
  • @22 yeah too bad the campaign was so short :(
  • They need to put a lot more work into a sequel. I tried really hard to like the first one but it was trash, the SP wasn't too bad but it was packed full of bugs. MP was straight up shit though
  • lol at the end of bf3 the bad guy gets captured doesn't die and you find the nuke and save the day ;P
  • Bad ass logo
  • Picked up MoH on PS3 for $9.99 not too long ago. Still havn't played it, and probably won't for quite awhile with such a huge backlog. The campaign should warrant the price tag though when I do eventually play it. Now the MP, if the beta was any indicator, I will stay far away from it.
  • Am I the only person who thought that MoH had a superb Campaign? :O
  • @29... I enjoyed the campaign. That's all I played though.
  • @29 No, I thought the campaign was great! Tier 1 mode was also a great twist. Where MOW went wrong was the multiplayer, the flow wasn't what most people were expecting or wanting. I hope DICE has made some changes for BF3 so it doesn't turn into another MOH multiplayer snipe fest.
  • I loved MOH. Especially the campaign. I'll buy the sequel. No question about it.
  • #4 is right. They announced long ago that, for the foreseeable future, they would alternate between Battlefield and MoH as their big, end of year FPS releases. Anyway, I really liked MoH so I will be happy to get a sequel next year.
  • Come on guys...we all know that the 1 isn't Tier 1, they're just showcasing the amount of hits it takes to kill people with the sniper in MOH. Hopefully they can upgrade the lackluster multiplayer in the next installment. Bring back the Tier 1 mode though!
  • The multiplayer for MOH was ruined from snipers. Hopefully for the sequal there won't even be any snipers.
  • To hell with these shitty military shooters. Freedom Fighters is where it's at.
  • Totally agree with #2. MoH was one of the most bland games I've ever played.
  • Maybe they can redeem themselves.
  • @4 Yup they did say that, then EA retracted the statement at E3 when it was asked by staying they couldn't have a battlefield out every other year with the quality that Dice put into BF3. So we'll see if they keep their word
  • the campain to the first MoH kicked ass! it was definitely better than BC2's campain and there was fun to be had with the multiplayer even though for the most part it was pretty weak.
  • Please actually make the Next MOH better
  • MOH wasn't bad. Just because it wasn't CoD or Battlefield doesn't mean its bad. People aren't expecting/don't want anything other than whats thrown at them constantly.
  • @16 MoH is great, not sure about the newer one though. I haven't played it yet. (You do know that the last one to come out wasn't the first one I hope...)
  • Not interested in MOH. Everything was brown in the game, camo, rocks, guns, etc. You come out of spawn wearing brown camo and look across the map and see some brown rocks, you think you see the enemy behind the rock but its hard to make out with his brown camo and all the brown dirt swirling through the air...You get sniped.
  • MOH had so much potential, and with matchmaking if you dont have a super good connection theres always lag. I enjoy the game and am definitly looking forward to what could be in store next.. and to the above ^ everythings brownish considering the game is based in afganistan where you've got pleanty of dirt, sand, rocks and mountain sides.
  • cant wait for thursday, and hopefully the next moh will let you kill osama yourself :D
  • Thought MOH was alright, just felt a bit like playing a crapper battlefield
  • Would of been funnier if EA put a flyer for MW3 in their limited edition boxsets :)
  • Wasn't that a MoH beta we played a couple of weeks ago?
  • Wow.. dudes.. Imagine this scenario. Basically, it's a fusion of Just Cause 3 and Mercs 3, Rico Rodriguez can call in airstrikes and nuclear bunker busters whilst grappling onto the nuclear missile and guiding it in to the destination, before Fiona picks him up in a chopper, you see them flying away to a distant tower before the missile explodes behind them, completely destroying a city and sending large pieces of debris into a nearby lake. Think about it. Just Mercenaries.
  • Maybe its supposed to literally be, a medal of honor.
  • Is this picture of a MoH bullet reminds you of Nintendo Bullet Bill from Super Mario Bros Universe? More likely to me. Here what it's look like of Bullet Bill if you don't know- http://blog.gamesylvania.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/Nintendo_Bullet_Bill_Buckle.jpg
  • Couldn't agree with #6 I really enjoyed the SP in Medal of Honor, too the point that I'm thinking about going to pick it back up. But, those damned OP sniper rifles in for the most part tight quarters maps were insanely cheap. I loved the way the kill streaks set up in the MP as well, more like a Score Streak. Also noticed that MW3 is using a similar system. But the MP was a dud overall. Got my 1000gs and traded it in. Can't make it to the midnight release, so one more day til BF3!
  • Well the last MoH was shit and I've played every single one of them games, that was the worst so far. I hope they can bring it back to it's glory with this next installment, but I won't hold my breath...
  • MY LCD tv burnt out this morning this f***in sucks cause i have been really lookin forward to BF3....
  • MoH was disappointing to me, but strangely it was the multiplayer that let me down. I loved the campaign, thought it had a great story, the gunplay was tight, and set pieces were epic. You could tell that DICE had their B or C team working on the MP for MoH while the rest of the studio was focused on BF3 and BC2: Vietnam. I'd honestly prefer it if Danger Close did the MP for MoH2 in-house. The shooting mechanics and graphics in the SP were much better than they were in MP, I'd love to see them take on the dev duties themselves instead of getting a watered-down version of BF's multiplayer. Oh, and bring back the sniping mechanic and lean/cover system from MoH: Airborne, best I've ever seen in a FPS.
  • It isn't even that MoH was bad, it just felt like I played it before. So it really wasn't anything new.
  • @58 agreed. It was derivative and boring. EA: if you really insist on making another MoH game.... Please don't make it suck. That's all we ask.
  • If they use that god-awful Unreal engine for the single player campaign again, you can count me out. The Unreal engine in MoH looked like shit and controlled horribly.
  • @60 Well seeing as how DICE is already whoring out he Frostbite2.0 engine to the likes of Black Box for NFS the run it would not be a stretch to assume Danger close uses it to.
  • I liked the last MOH. It wasn't all that bad, just a bit unpolished. I'm actually hoping they go back to their WWII roots some day. I'm getting tired of all these modern war games.
  • 17 hours till i pick uo Bf3! @62... your tired of modern war games.. but not WW2 games? strange...
  • Its actually ironic. The CoD series was being panned because of their WWII slant and people wanted variety so they went away from the formula to modern warfare. Now that we've been inundated with modern warfare, people are wanting to go back to good old WWII games. Darth Vader was right. We have come full circle. Now Battlefield is the master yet again...
  • @63 Yes. Very Strange.
  • Moh was cool
