Following its release last Thursday, the Resident Evil 4 Chainsaw Demo has been picked through by ardent fans, who've discovered secret weapons and even a special extreme difficulty ‘Mad Chainsaw Mode’.
Apparently, Mad Chainsaw Mode is seemingly offered up randomly during multiple demo playthroughs, and as the Resident Evil 4 Chainsaw Demo has no restrictions (time or otherwise) you can play it as many times as you like, for as long as you like.
Mad Chainsaw Mode presents you with stronger enemies, different placements of said enemies, and more. Meanwhile, you can unearth secret weapons, including the TMP (Tactical Machine Pistol). To get the TMP in the demo, you'll first need to ditch everything in your attache case before reaching the Village.
Once you're there, you can descend into a well via a ladder, where you'll find a bunch of wooden barrels and a blue treasure chest. Smash the barrels open, and you should find various useful items, while the TMP is inside the chest. The TMP will then carry across to subsequent playthroughs once you've unlocked it, so it's worth seeking it out.
Other secrets discovered in the demo thus far include the ability to spawn two chainsaw-wielding Dr. Salvadors - as if one wasn't enough. You can play the free Resident Evil 4 Chainsaw Demo on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC now, ahead of the full game's release on 24th March.
