Following last week's reports that developer Monolith's Wonder Woman game is being designed as a live service game, according to a leaked job listing, publisher Warner Bros. Games has issued a statement to the contrary. Apparently, it won't be live service, but will utilise Monolith's Nemesis System from its Mordor games.

“Wonder Woman is a single-player action-adventure game set in a dynamic open-world," WB Games told IGN. “This third person experience will allow players to become Diana of Themyscira and introduce an original story set in the DC Universe, while also featuring the Nemesis System. Wonder Woman is not being designed as a live service.”

A job listing leaked last week was seeking a Lead Software Engineer to work at Monolith on its Wonder Woman game, with prospective applicants having “experience helping maintain a live software product or game” said to be favourable. However, WB Games' statement suggests that Wonder Woman won't have live service elements.

  • Good to hear but I'm still not buying if there is a female lead in a Wonder Woman game. That's just ridiculous!
  • I suppose nemesis system is live service in a way. If you stick around it could go on forever so that’s probably why…
  • Fuck you. Asshole.
  • Hopefully this'll be released Holiday 2024 or early 2025. Give Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League some breathing room and allow the developers more time to fine tune the game. Perhaps we'll get more info during The Game Awards!
  • I guess some people don't get sarcasm, no matter how obvious it is, lol.
  • I hope it's set during WW1 like the first movie.
