Microsoft has announced that it's delisting more than 40 games from the Xbox 360 Marketplace later this month, beginning as soon as next week. Select entries in the Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, Far Cry, Mass Effect, and Splinter Cell series are among the titles being removed from the store on Xbox 360.
You will, however, still be able to download and play any games you've already purchased following the delisting, simply by visiting the Download History on your Xbox 360 console, and you'll still be able to buy any backwards compatible games from the respective Microsoft Stores on Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S.
“These titles will no longer be purchasable on the Xbox 360 Store only, and titles that are available to be purchased on the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S Stores will remain purchasable," a spokesperson for Xbox told Gematsu.
“You will still be able to play discs or previously downloaded games on your Xbox 360 and modern consoles if they are backwards compatible titles. For more information on the games impacted in your region, visit here."
In the US, a total of 46 games are due to be removed from the Xbox 360 Marketplace on 7th February, with 44 to be removed in the UK. Dark Souls, Left 4 Dead, Prince of Persia, Skate 2, The Witcher 2, Blue Dragon, Peggle 2, Jet Set Radio, and Daytona USA are among the other games being nixed.
